Leopard Attack in Zimbabwe
We recently received word of a leopard mauling in Zimbabwe, where hunters Bill Adair and David Miller were hunting leopard with Matupula Hunters. Details are still sketchy, as we have been unable to reach anyone at Matupula Hunters and Bill Adair was undergoing treatment in the hospital back home in Alaska. What we have heard is that a large leopard charged the group, first mangling the PH's arm before it turned on Adair, who was knocked face down on the ground. The cat began slicing into Adair's back when Miller shot and killed the animal. Unfortunately, the bullet passed through the leopard and struck Adair in the calf. Both Adair and the PH were taken to the hospital. We understand Adair's gunshot wound was not serious as no bones were broken, but he lost a quantity of blood and required surgery. Here are the photographs we received of the incident, post attack.
