As Provided by the UK Civil Aviation Authority
Munitions of war are those identified in the following list or which are parts or accessories for those so identified.
Pump action or semi-automatic shotguns
Shotguns with barrels less than 24 inches in length
Weapons or ammunition (cartridges) of the following calibers:

| .32 | .223 | .357 | 5.7mm | 7.82mm | 11mm |
| .38 | .303 | .380 | 6.5mm | 7.92mm | 12.7mm |
| .40 | .306 | .455 | 7.5mm | 8 x 57mm | 14.5mm |
| .44 | .308 | 4.6mm | 7.62mm | 8mm | all calibers of 19mm or greater |
| .45 | .315 | 5.45mm | 7.63mm | 9mm |
The following are not munitions of war in any circumstances: all weapons and ammunition (cartridges) which are described as 12 gauge or 12 bore (except when pump action or semi-automatic or for use in riot control); weapons and ammunition (cartridges) with calibers .22, .30/06, .243, .270, .318, .350 and .375
