More on Brown Bear Hunting in Romania with Best European Hunts
In the June 2013 issue of The Hunting Report, we published a positive report (9107) from subscriber Ken Allen on a European brown bear hunt he enjoyed in Romania with George Dina of Best European Hunts. He mentioned missing an opportunity for a huge bear that was spooked by a pack of wolves. That bear was later shot by another hunter. The bear, Allen says, may rank Number Five CIC. Here's a photo below, along with photos of the shooting houses used and of the village where Allen stayed during his hunt. For more information, see the June issue or read Allen's report in our database.
"The one that got away" from Allen. The boy sitting next the bear is a pre-teen that Allen says is nowhere as small as he looks in this photo.
Allen hunted from these shooting houses (blinds) built by former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. You can see the interiors are quite comfortable and well-equipped for hunting "blinds."
