Iridium Phone Rental Agreement

RENTAL POLICY:

This agreement is for a rental of an Iridium Satellite phone and airtime. The airtime is $1.85 per minute for outgoing calls. Since Satellite Phone rentals involve certain liabilities, it is important that you note the following points and indicate your acceptance of them by

If the phone you rent is lost and is not returned, you will be charged for the current price of the phone ($1,495), plus the rental amount. (initial) ________ |

If the phone is returned damaged, your account will be billed for the cost of the repair. If the phone is not repairable the full cost of the phone will be charged to your account. (initial) ________ |

An Iridium phone must be used outside, in an area with a clear view of the sky to place or receive calls. (initial) ________ |

An Iridium Satellite Phone is heavier and bigger than a cell phone (approx. 13.2 ounces in weight and approx. six inches tall). (initial) ________ |

Dropped calls occur with hand-held satellite phones. This is a technological problem that cannot be remedied at this time. Airtime charges for calls that are interrupted are payable. (initial) ________ |

There is no charge for incoming calls to a Satellite Phone, but the caller's long distance company will charge per minute at their rate. (Initial)____

Calls placed to a satellite phone through a US relay station in Arizona (reachable at 480-768-2500) will be billed to the satellite phone account at $2.25 per minute. Called, “two stage dialing” this may or may not be cheaper than dialing direct. It is the responsibility of the satellite phone contract holder to determine this by contacting his long distance company service provider prior to his trip. Long distance companies’ fees for calling a satellite phone vary widely. ATT was recently charging $1.80 per minute and Sprint was charging $1.99. On the other hand. SW Bell was charging $8.76 per minute and Cox was charging $11.39. Before you depart, contact your long distance carrier to find out what they charge to call a satellite phone and decide which calling method is best for you – direct dialing or two stage calling. In order to be sure you receive your phone, we strongly recommend that you authorize us to ship your phone for overnight delivery three days in advance of your departure date. In fact, that is our policy unless you direct us to ship it closer to your departure date (see below). Early shipment of your phone allows us to track its shipment and even ship a back-up phone if the reputable national shipping company (UPS or Fedex) we use has an unanticipated problem meeting its service standard.
