Problems of Hunt: None Highlights of Hunt: I have always wanted to hunt buffalo in the Marromeu Swamps since reading Harry Manner's book "Kambaku". Was able to harvest 2 buffalo on this trip, a swamp bull and an old dugga boy living in a patch of palm scrub. Also enjoyed a bonus nyala with exceptional mass to his horns and a monster warthog! Equipment Recommendations: For the swamps I recommend long sleeves and trousers made by Columbia or Magellan that will dry relatively quickly. You will get wet. Also, canvas shoes that allow water to drain from them. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? yes Why? Absolutely. High game populations for buffalo and sable and serious trophy quality on species like red duiker, suni, nyala, warthog and reedbuck made this hunt very enjoyable.

September 26, 2011 Delta Air Lines, Inc. Customer Care PO Box 20980 Department 980 Atlanta, GA 30320-2980 To Whom it May Concern, On September 8, I was booked on your flight DL200 for a flight to Atlanta and then on flight DL200 to continue on to Johannesburg, South Africa. Please note that I was assigned business class seats on both flights. When I checked in at your priority counter in Los Angeles, the individual checked my passport and stamped "passenger docs ok" on both boarding passes. I enclose copies of these two boarding passes. When I was boarding the flight to Johannesburg the individual at your gate looked through my passport and said, "you have no fully blank visa pages and I cannot let you board." There were visa pages that were partially blank and other fully blank pages behind the visa pages. Please note that South Africa does not require a visa from US citizens upon entry, but rather the local customs officials simply put a small stamp in your passport that uses about 1/4 of a page. I was directed to a service counter where your agent Dolores worked hard to get me rebooked for the next day and furnished me with a hotel voucher. This individual was most helpful. I took a shuttle to what frankly was a very mediocre hotel. Following this I was on my own for meals and the cab fare the next day to the passport office in downtown Atlanta. To obtain the blank pages for my passport required two trips to downtown Atlanta from the hotel near the airport. I arrived at the passport office before 8am and was told to come back at 2:20pm. I followed the instructions and then returned to the Atlanta airport for my departure. As I had done in Los Angeles, I checked in at the priority counter. The agent who helped me, Lonzie Talbert, was more than helpful. He discovered that the reservations were now all fouled up. At first all he could do was print out a coach seat and after more effort he was finally able to seat me in business class were I belonged. This whole procedure took at least 30 minutes of his time and numerous telephone calls on his part. This whole situation could been eliminated if your counter person in Atlanta had let me on the first flight. In addition, if there is truly a problem, your counter person in Los Angeles could have told me and I could have delayed the trip by one day and take care of the issues in Los Angeles, which is close to my home. This would have saved considererable cost and inconvenience.  In my opinion I am entitled to some consideration from Delta Airlines for the portion of this costly and untimely delay. Game Sought But Not Taken: Game Condition Comments: It rained 2 1/2 days. It is never supposed to rain that much in August and it had been a very wet year. The leaves were still on the trees and the pans were full of water. Game was difficult to find but the PH and trackers worked hard and I collected everything on my list.

Problems of Hunt: None. Highlights of Hunt: Taking a total of 18 animals, all of which were in prime, remote area of Africa. Taking a great suni with a handgun. Equipment Recommendations: Sat phone and GPS and lots of "deep woods" repellant. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? The outfitter is trustworthy and well equipped to get you into a good shooting situation but you have to work at it to get prime trophies.

GAME DESCRIPTION

Major Game Animals Taken: Sable - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Roosevelt, 38 inches. Nyala - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 27 1/2 inches. Bushbuck - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 13 1/2 inches. Bushpig - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Big UN. Warthog - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 16 inches. Game Sought But Not Taken: Crocodile - Availability: Ran out of time. Game Condition Comments: Seven hunters took 38 of 43 animals on their lists. Extremely well managed area. Mozambique government may use it as a model. Abundant free ranging game with excellent trophy quality. Sable is a bargain, best Suni in the world. One of the few places you can hunt free range Nyala.

Problems of Hunt: Eight people on a hunt is probably two to four too many! Highlights of Hunt: We all got along well, weather was perfect and everyone bagged an exceptional animal or two. Equipment Recommendations: Old tennis shoes if you hunt in the swamps. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? Unique environments and combination of game: 1. Swamp - Bufallo, Hippopotamus, Crocodile, Waterbuck; 2. Palm Savanah - Hartebeest, Eland, Roosevelt Sable, Impala, Warthog; 3. Tropical Hardwood Forest and clearing - Nyala, Bushbuck, Bushpig, Suni, Duiker, Oribi, Reedbuck.
