|
Over the past 15 years I have hunted extensively in North America but had never hunted sheep prior to this year. When I was fortunate enough to draw a limited bighorn sheep tag in Idaho, I had no idea of an appropriate outfitter.
The Hunt Trip Report service you provide proved invaluable. Your service provided the name of one outfitter in this particular zone that guided sheep. I also received names of several other guides who also guided in this particular area from friends and fellow hunters. After talking to the two people who had filed a hunt report on Wilderness Outfitters of Idaho, I decided that this outfitter was best suited for me. I was elated that everything described to me by his former hunters and the guide himself was correct. This guide exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the hunt. In fact, this is one of the best outfitters I have hunted with.
Wilderness Outfitters provided me with two guides and one wrangler. The head guide pre-scouted extensively prior to my hunt. These men could not have been more committed to finding the best trophy available. You only need to hunt sheep once to understand how hard they are to find and see. Through the course of this hunt we observed 26 different rams with 16 of them being legal. We had spotted five rams in one area on the second day of the hunt. We continued our hunt down river to see if we could locate better rams. On the eighth day of the hunt we returned to find those rams had actually joined up with another four rams. The 10-hour stalk to my trophy was the most exciting I have ever been on, starting at 6 am on horseback with the final four hours on foot. We eventually got within 200 yards of the trophy.
This hunt could not have been better planned or executed. Wilderness Outfitters is a true first class hunting experience with the hunter's success a top priority.
Thanks again. Through the help of The Hunting Report I was able to find this outfitter.
