Game Sought But Not Taken: Game Condition Comments: Spotted a bear evening of the first day of the hunt. Undoubtedly one of the best places in North America for spot-and-stalk hunting of black bears. Outfitter guarantees SCI minimum on all bears.

Problems of Hunt: Having Mounties stop us to check licenses, permits, firearms permits, etc. All in order, so no difficulties, and actually reassuring to know that government does patrol to protect the resource from poachers. Highlights of Hunt: Wading up a shallow stream at last light to take big black bear feeding on salmon. Equipment Recommendations: Ankle-fit hip waders, good rain gear.
