GAME DESCRIPTION
Major Game Animals Taken:
Game Sought But Not Taken: Deer, Whitetail - Availability: Poor Quality
Game Condition Comments: I welcome The Hunting Report to send this to the outfitter. The outfitter said average size deer they take was 150 to 190 per his advertisement in the Hunter Fool Mag. Largest harvested while I was there was a 135 class. That is also the same as the animals I observed. As far as ability of the Guide, you really didn't have one, what you had was somebody that dropped you off and did not check on you.

If Seeking Restitution, What is Sought? I doubt the outfitter Gary Drikall would care. I have hunted all over the world and this was awful.

ADDITIONAL HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL
When booking the hunt I was told that I would hunt mostly on private land with trail cams over bait. I was in one blind that had a trail cam with no chip to be checked. I was on private land one day only. Landing, they were late 45 minutes. I arrive at the house, they are having dinner, I go to the restroom and when I come out, Gary, the outfitter, has left with out introducing himself. I found this odd. Day 1, I go with Gary to glass some fields and check some blinds. We did this for around 3 hours and then I was taken back to the house while Gary would feed the cows. He told me he would be back in a hour, he returned 3 hours later. We then went to some public land where I was put into a nice blind that looked like a great location. I did see some does and a 135 class buck. Day 2, I was told that Gary's son would take me on a quad to a blind on their private land where they have seen a nice buck. Gary said I would be there for only the morning hunt and he would pick me up around 10 or 11. On the quad ride I ask the son about this buck, his comment was there was no buck, this is where they shoot coyotes. I was not picked up until 7 PM by Monique, Gary's wife. Also on day 2 they moved a hunter from their second camp over to an area that one of the guys from my camp was hunting, within 1/4 mile and he shot a deer that the guy from my camp was hunting. This was a 130 class deer with a drop tine. Also on day 2 a guy from my camp shot a 135 class. Day 3, I was put in a blind they said they had seen a nice deer close to the blind. A few does and a couple of small bucks. Day 4, a guy from Florida is leaving, and they put me in the blind he had hunted for five days seeing five does and a small buck. This was around 4 to 5 miles from where I sat on day 3. I had the same result as he did, with the highlight of walking out of the blind and back to the pick-up point. While waiting to be picked up, a truck pulled up about an hour after dark, and I went to the truck to find out it was a rancher who said I was trespassing and he was going to call the police. I told him to call them. I had my contract and all the information on me. I explained that I had been dropped early that morning and I would be picked up soon. After showing him all the info, he copied it, and I asked him to wait but he just said he would contact Gary. I did not have the house phone number, only Gary's cell with me, but after another 2 hours of waiting I called my wife, who in turn had the house number so she called to see what time they were picking me up. They said 10 minutes, but it took them 30. When the son and guide helper arrived, they were drunk. I got back to the house and explained what had happened. Gary did call the rancher about the trespassing, but I never found out if I was or not. The morning of day 5 I told Gary to take me to the airport. I was not asked why or what the problem was, all he said is he would see when he could get me a ride. While I was there, there were 6 hunters in my camp. One shot a 135 class deer, one guy from the second camp had harvested about the same. The balance left with nothing, at the airport in customs I met a second hunter from the other camp, he had also taken a 130 deer. The facts are that in 2008 they harvested several nice deer in the 200-190 class, in 2010 they harvested several deer in the 190, 180 and 170 classes, in 2011 the largest deer was a 165 and 160 give or take. This information on the years and sizes was taken off the wall of Trophy's given to Tracks BC Outfitter. One last thing, a man and wife from Virgina were in camp on trophy hunts and on their last day they asked if they could at least harvest meat deer, they left with nothing. Two of the guys in camp had hunted there the year before and they said that this year's experience was a complete 180 from their last.

Major Game Animals Taken: Deer, Whitetail - Availability: Average - Trophy Size: 167 gross
Wolf - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: black/melanistic; mature male
Game Sought But Not Taken:
Game Condition Comments: I'd like to respond to hunter Russ Brice's negative report on his Tracks BC Whitetail hunt. Canada deer hunting is not for everybody. It's cold; long days sitting in cold and not seeing much. That's normal, but I'm there for the walk, which could be a monster. I've hunted Alberta-Saskatchewan for the last 35 years. I've shot three bucks over 170 and many 160+ bucks. I have hunted deer with Tracks BC four times and shot 165-167-and 170+ bucks. The year I did not shoot I passed on a 160 class 5x5 because I thought he needed another year. I started hunting BC because you can bait and Tracks BC has a history of taking big bucks. Some years are better than others. I missed last year because I was on Kodiak Island hunting Blacktail and ducks. I will be there this November. I'm looking for a deer in the 170 class or better. You won't shoot a 170+ buck if you shoot a 140. Lots of hunters have to take a buck home. This hunt is for someone that is a hardcore Whitetail hunter who doesn't mind sitting for 10 days and not firing a shot. They have many big bucks on camera in the dark and it takes really cold and snowy weather to get them into bait during the rut. Like I said, this hunt is not for everyone. Kansas-Texas may be a better bet for some. I'm one that loves the huge-bodied gnarly antlers of a 5-6 year old buck. I may come home without one, but at least I'm in good country where I know giants live. John Teeter

ADDITIONAL HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL
This is one top notch outfit. Gary Drinkell and Blain Tredholm give 100 percent, their guides don't come any better, true professionals. Very hard working. My guide called in several moose, some were not legal, but I also passed on legal bulls, taking my bull the 5th day of the hunt. I saw so much other game as well. Elk, deer, black and grizzly bear. Great country to be hunting in. My hunting partner didn't have his moose by the end of the 7 day hunt, Gary and Blain talked us into staying another day and go out hunting while my moose was getting processed, My partner took a 54 incher that day. I have been on several guided hunts and have never had guides that worked as hard and were as knowledgable as their guides. The two previous guided hunts that I had been on were so bad, I was thinking of giving up on guided hunts. Hunting with Gary and Blain brought back confidence in the hunting industry for me.
