Weather in February was hot (up to 43 C)and wet (90% humidity most days). But we knew this coming in. It was the only time both my son and I could get off together. |

My son shot an old Buff with 16" bosses from atop a termite mound, and two days later I shot an even older one that scored SCI 105 while tracking him in a light rain. |

This was the earliest hunt they had ever tried. No one knew exactly what to expect. But everyone pitched in, worked hard and we came away with very nice trophies, honestly and fairly earned. |

They prefer you fly into Johannesburg, and on into Polokwane, SA where they will pick you up and drive you to the concession. This worked out quite nicely, we got in and out of Zimbabwe with no issues. The hunt was hard due to the heat at that time of year, but the staff and PH worked hard, were very professional, and friendly, and we got what we came for, two Buffaloes, two Zebra, two Impala, and a Baboon to top things off. All in all a very satisfying trip. I will definitely be using them again.

We hunted the Low Veld near Beitbridge on Botharus Ranch belonging to Tokkie van der Merwa. He has had no trouble with squatters. He has tried to maintain a good relationship with the local authorities and this has paid off. In addition, there has been very little squatter activity in that area.
We drove to the Doma area to another ranch, which he owns there. This ranch has no squatters but the general area around has had same trouble. The farmers

After a 33-year law enforcement career, I retired last year. I have hunted in the western states for deer, elk and antelope for 40 years, but this was my first African trip.
My wife, Jeannie, and I booked a 14-day hunt with Tokkie Vandermerwe of Three Way Safaris. We got good quality trophy animals of every species we hunted, including a cape buffalo taken by Jeannie.
We can only say good things about Tokkie and his staff. Everyone worked hard to make this a true

Had tickets, reservations, etc and flights were cancelled without notice causing additional non-reimbursed expenses in transportation, time delays, hassels and total lack of custom service. My wife tripped on a hole in the floor of the airport in Johannesburg and fell on her face. No one would take responsibility. |

Tracking, stalking cape buffalo although I was unsuccessful. At one point in grass above our heads, going down a river bank, PH took 416 completely off safety. I was later told we were on top of a leopard which we never saw, but I "puckered" just the same. |

Tokkie has lots of leopard. My wife was unable to hunt from the blind due to a cough developed just before the hunt, which did not go away until we returned.
I have never seen so many kudu. It seems there were as many kudu as there were impala.
Tokkie is a great PH. His camp and equipment are first class
