Delta was very accommodating in regards to my wife's severe leg injury. South African was inept in regards to transport of ammunition. Upon checking in at East London we were told that we could not transport our ammunition in our checked bags. We were told that we would have to place the ammo in our gun cases. We have never had to do this and it defies reason in that if someone broke into the gun case, they would have a completely operational firearm in the airport. We did as we were instructed. Upon our arrival in Johannesburg we had to present our gun cases for inspection. Upon doing this, we were informed that we have a big problem. You cannot transport your ammunition in the gun case. We told them what happened in East London. It was not possible at this time to change to our checked baggage as they were checked straight through to Atlanta. The folks at the check in would not retrieve our checked baggage. After much discussion and "run around" in back rooms in the airport we were allowed to leave the ammo in the rifle cases after presentation of some "Dead Presidents". Not a princely sum, but we should not have had to do this. We cleared customs, etc in Atlanta without incident. |

Other than my wife falling and breaking her kneecap, we had absolutely no problems with the hunt. My wife failling was no one's fault but hers. |

The whole hunt was a highlight. Our hunting areas had abundant game and exceptional trophy quality. I cannot envision anyone providing better accommodations, food and service better than Swartkei Safaris. I would recommend this safari without reservation. In a word, excellent in every regard. |

I did not include the actual measurements for the trophies taken. I was told by the PH and safari operators that all taken were good trophy quality and would make the SCI Book except the fallow deer. Of course, there are no books entries for zebra. I do not like to hunt with a tape. I only ask that I am shown good representations of the species. In all my safaris and hunts I measure the trophies when the mounts arrive. It's worked for me as I have some 30 trophies listed in the SCI Record Book. I recently submitted 6 more and I will do the same when the trophies of this hunt arrive. Thank you very much for allowing me to make a report as eZulu in association with Swartkei Safaris really earned and deserve my report.

My wife and I just returned from a great trip to South Africa that I think your subscribers would like to hear about. We took our son-in-law, daughter and two granddaughters, ages 7 and 12 on a ten-day plains game safari with Charles and Angela Price of Swartkei Safaris in the Eastern Cape Province. This was my sixth trip to Africa and I can truthfully say one of the most enjoyable we have ever been on. My family did all the shooting and collected many excellent trophies. This was a real family safari because Charles and Angela took their children along and everybody had a great time. Angela also arranged for a wonderful sightseeing trip after the safari. Charles hunts out of three different camps with diverse terrain and all with abundant game. Everything he does is first class. I strongly recommend this hunt to any of your subscribers that are thinking about a family safari.
