Airline Service: Poor Airline Comments: After having some of my best flight experiences with SAA in the past, I was totally shocked by how far this company has collapsed in such a short period of time. In a word "horrible". Worst round trip flight ever taken. All negative reports about SAA are well-founded. Airbus was extremely cramped, only one small meal for 18 hours both ways. Asked for more food both ways, Crew acted like this was a ridiculous request and stated that there was no more, also ran out of ice both ways.

Problems of Hunt: None. Highlights of Hunt: Taking a world class specimens of sable, white springbok and reedbuck with archery equipment. Equipment Recommendations: Must have a laser rangefinder. Also, sable are much bigger and tougher than I had previously imagined - would not go less than 500 gr arrow with sturdy BH (steel/titanium) and over 70 pounds KE. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? Francois and his family are exceptional hosts. They are genuinely warm and fun-loving people. Our party were the only people in camp (a Sandveld policy) which kept everyone focused on our hunting goals. To sum it up - exceptional personal service.

Excellent hunt - If you're looking for sable, any flavor of springbok, or other plains game, this would be an excellent choice. Sandveld Safaris was a fantastic hunting experience. They were very well prepared for precisely the type of bowhunting that I was looking for. They did their homework and were prepared. Paid very close attention to my personal hunting goals. For my hunt the focus and intent was to spend all of the time necessary to bag the biggest sable bull that we could and the hunt other things with the remaining time. It worked out much better than anticipated, as we took a monster sable, and several other World-Class animals (all with bow and arrow). Francois, his family and staff are all geniunely warm, friendly and very accommodating people. The hunting was fantastic (they were well set up for bow hunting and everything was pre-souted), and they had all of our personal requests well taken care of. They even laughed at all of our jokes and paid attention during all of our tall tales. This was the best personal service that our hunting party had ever received. The facilities are wonderful as well, with cottages for each person or couple (much larger than others that I've seen). In addition to great hunting, they have wonderful game viewing with buffalo, giraffe and white rhino on the property. So, bring the wife and kids, and all will have a great time. Great value for the quality of game and upscale service offered.
