Comments: |
Continental was great, Turkish air lost our bags coming and going we lost 1.5 days hunting and waited 2 day for my rifles on return, Business class seats were coach seats with no middle passenger, couldn't rest or sleep They also wanted our ammo to be checked separately in it's own bag, ammo only when we we're leaving Bishkek. The ammo came in in our bag as per US rules but not leaving, we ended up leaving the ammo in Kyrz to avoid the problem |

| Equipment
Recommendations: |
You need warm clothes and a zero degree minimum sleeping bag or better. You spent 6-8 hours a day on Horse bback in some of the most rugged country in the world. If you have a problem with heights or vertigo do not do this hunt. You are based at 9.500 ft and hunt to 13,500 ish. Food is basic rolled meat and Raman noodles and you hunt from Fly Camp and it is a light tent with no heat and cold meats and Raman noodles are the fare of the day |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
yes |
| Why? |
If you are ready for the above, I recommend it. It was a good hunt with zero luxuries but everythig was taken care of and if your ready for it you'll have a good time and come back sore but satisfied, with the experience of a lifetime. |

|
There were three of us on this hunt and I recommend going with a buddy as you are hunting 1x1 in terms that you each have your own guide but you hunt together and split up sometimes when animals are spotted and you're setting up to intercept them when they feed or stalking to get close enough, (which is not very oftem possible as they lay down at the very top all day and come down to feed only after 4-7 pm when it is too dark to shoot. The only English spoken or understood will be with your buddy, the rest is hand signals. The interpreter stays at base camp and does not head to the field. You are in the hands of the guides and from my experience they were very good and capable and were concerned you got an opportunity to shoot (although they think you can shoot incredible distances and you have to bring it into reality, but expect out to 500-600 yards on occasion)and we're kept safe. I recommend at least 1 sat phone and 1 solara unit for extreme emergencies, and evacuation by Global Rescue. If you get hurt out of base camp someone will have to come in by chopper to get you.
