ADDITIONAL HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL
After spending a comfortable night at the hunters lodge high up in the mountains, my guide Anton Toncher and I along with the park ranger began our hunt for chamois. We were high up in the mountains near the top of the Mavrovo National Reserve. We left the Land Rover and climbed the mountain for 1 ½ hour. We then crawled under the rocks as it began raining harder and harder. The fog (a hunter's worst enemy) got so heavy; our visibility was only between 20 and 30 feet. After a couple of hours soaking in the rain, we decided to go look for a better spot. After moving down in elevation some 500 to 800 feet we found a break in the fog. We glassed the distant canyons spotting two chamois. We made a planned stock down one canyon and then up and around one mountain to look down on our chamois. As we glassed, we found four chamois with a good female. As they worked their way down the canyon, another group of three appeared out of the forest edge. There was a good male in that group. At 270 yards, the shot from the 300 Sako echoed in the canyon and made its mark. We sent the park hunter down to retrieve my trophy. We met him over and down two canyons. The mountains were a lot more dramatic than I expected, but then again, there is no easy chamois hunt.

After taking the chamois the first day and only spending one night in the Mountain Hunters Lodge, we then moved over to the hunting estate for wild boar. The second day of the hunt I took wild pigs, a large sow and a boar.

The third day at last light we found the trophy I came to Europe for. A real "tusker" supporting some very large tusks at 10 ½ inch with no broken tips. At this hunting estate, I saw a good number of European mouflon and one in particular that passed next to our blind was lucky he was not on my list. As for the wild hogs, they were numerous and I took an exceptional trophy boar.

Tony had the fourth day set aside for us to hunt partridge with a group of his hunting buddies. We flushed some large covies of partridge and numerous birds fell. It was raining fairly hard and I was worn out from packing around the extra weight from the mud on my boots. Then the rains fell even harder. Time to call it a night.

With our hunting completed, Tony and I started off to Thessaloniki, Greece to pick up a little Greek culture. We stopped in Pella in route and walked through the ruins from some 2400 years ago. I was totally amazed at what knowledge and beautiful work was done so many years ago with no power tools. The art of craftsmanship was very prevalent. In Thessaloniki, we had a very colorful dinner with truly Greek entertainment. Because we were staying the night, we stayed late and enjoyed the whole evening. From Greece, we went up to Ochi Lake, spent the night and the next day went to Albania and took a lunch of a special trout called Belushka. I spent the last night at the Hunters Inn in Skopji, a very hunter friendly place. If you can fit it in your travels, this is a place you should try to either stay at or just have lunch.

Macedonia is a hunter friendly place. Great trophies and my guide Tony is a real hunter's guide. The Best.

ADDITIONAL HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL
I read the article about the hunt in Armenia by Douglas Yajko. I knew that Bezoar were somewhere in this area but didn't know exactly where until I read about his hunt. This was my fourth trip to Asia in search of a good bezoar. I have been to Turkey twice and Turkmenistan once and still did not see a decent bezoar until this trip to Armenia.

In addition to the bezoar hunt, I also booked for Armenian mouflon as I had heard that it was a very challenging hunt with slight chances of success. This turned out to be every bit as much of a hunt as the bezoar. I feel that if a hunter is in good shape and dedicated there is better than an even chance to score. They are a very worthy opponent. I however shot mine at the end of the second day, having passed on a smaller one earlier. I also passed on a magnificent Asian brown bear. He was huge and had a grey and full winter pelt. I am now second guessing my decision on that one.

This was my first time booking with Srdja Dimitrijevic of Hunt in Europe. Everything was well done, on time and just as it should be.
