My hunting partner, Jack G. Brittingham, and I recently completed a great hunt with Yuri Matison in Tajikistan. Our quest for trophy Marco Polo rams was successful with each of us taking rams in the 58-inch range. Matison lived up to his fine reputation and runs a first-class operation. We were both very impressed with the manner in which he organized the hunt. All mechanical equipment was in first-class shape, and every hunting day was carefully planned. Guides and support staff were very experienced and did a great job locating sheep, taking care of our trophies, etc. Although this is a physically-demanding trip, Matison and his crew, did a fine job of taking care of us. The only snag with this trip is transportation to the hunting area. Flight delays and postponements are a common occurrence. You need to be certain to add a few extra days to your itinerary to allow for inclement weather, fuel shortages, etc. Bottom line - this is truly a hunt for the world
