SUMMARY REMARKS

Problems of Hunt: Heavy dew some mornings - clouds gun scope. Got colder than I thought. Desert hunt very dusty. Sun and wind chapped lips and burned skin. Highlights of Hunt: Making a 250 yard downhill shot and getting the mountain nyala. Elevation 8,000-11,000 feet. Learning that the Ethiopian country is on the rise. There's a lot of good people there and many things to see, such as bridge built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, and religious sites. Equipment Recommendations: Clothes for 20-30 degrees and then hot in daytime. Good shoes for stirrups on horses, satellite phone, Levis for riding horses. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? We hunted for 11 days for mountain nyala - up at 2-4 am to ride out in dark. Very emotional time when you finally get animal.

Game Condition Comments: Colonel Negussie Eshete who is the owner of Rocky Valley Safaris is the most conservation minded individual one could ever meet. This makes for an excellent hunt with fantastic quality animals. They didn't want me to shoot unless the animal was to their standards. Professional hunter was excellent.

Its located in the Bale Mountains just north of the Bale National Park.

I got very sick at the SCI convention and was in pretty bad shape when I reached Addis Ababa, so Negussie changed the plan around, and we started in the warmer greater kudu area.
