I just returned from the Yukon from another fantastic sheep hunt with Dan Reynolds .The Ogilvie Mountains were exploding with fall colors and were breathtakingly gorgeous in early September. I shot this heavy old heavenly mountain monarch at 345 yards and my guide scored this beautiful Fannin ram at 168. Dan Reynolds is exceptional guide and outfitter. Dan is the best , most experienced , and safest bush pilot I have ever had the pleasure to fly . Believe it or not , my 12 year old ram LOWERED his average age of rams taken in 2009 to 12.375 years ! His long range quality game management program is phenominally successful . Dan continues to run one of the best camps I have ever experienced.His scouting and preparation are second to none.This is my third hunt with Dan Reynolds in the past 16 years. I tremendously enjoyed each minute of each day of this wonderful hunt. My guide Carson Nutting was a pleasant, courteous, very capable young man in exceptional shape. He was patient with this 55 year old as we climbed to the top of the mountain and planned a practical, successful stalk from above the sheep. At one point we were seen by the sheep at 500 yards and lay still on the slope in drizzling rain for 2 hours before we could resume our ascent. I also harvested a grizzly and a wolf on this 10 day hunt. I saw a good moose but passed since I had shot a 64 inch moose in Alaska 20 years ago and was looking for a super trophy. Dan Reynolds sets the example all outfitters should aspire to achieve in quality game management, comfortable camps, experienced guides, preseason scouting, safe planes, and overall an exceptionally successful and fun hunting adventure.

Problems of Hunt: The weather changed and it was icy again with cold and snow. So the movement of bears calmed down. But I hae seen seven grizzly bears. Highlights of Hunt: To get my first wolf, to come home safe, after we stuck in heavy fog with the super cub, but Dan is also and excellent pilot.
