Major Game Animals Taken: Elephant - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 69 X 65. Wildebeest - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 30 inches. Baboon - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Game Sought But Not Taken: Game Condition Comments: The Okavango Delta is a wildlife spectacle with few equals. The game life is rich and diverse by measures. We could count on seeing hundreds of elephants per day. On most days we would see bulls over 50 pounds. The numbers of plains game was truly something awesome to see. Lions could be heard from camp every evening with multiple sightings in the 14-day hunt. We had the pleasure of seeing other rarities such as wild dogs, cheetah and leopard all in the daylight hours. Great place to bring the family for wildlife viewing.

Business Class service was great. Up to par with any of the European carriers and SAA. Luggage and firearms were handled without incident. The Only issue I had was a missed connection in Atlanta on my return because of US Customs issues. There were no officers on duty Sunday morning the 19th of May causing multiple hunters to miss connections. I was delayed over 40 minutes because of this. Then asked to have my shoes disinfected because we passed through Senegal, even though we never got off the plane. Eventually they let us through without this step. It was the only hassle we had. We used the Afton House Meet and Greet service in Joberg. They handled the Gun Permits, overnight accommodations and transport perfectly....worth every penny for the service.

Problems of Hunt: None, Jeff Rann and Rann Safaris is a first class outfit. All aspects of this hunt were handled exactly as promised and then some. Great Staff, PH's, and organization make it an effortless experience Highlights of Hunt: Taking my first elephant with a brain shot at 15 yds and watching him drop in his tracks with my .450 Dakota while 3 other bulls raced back to his rescue. Exciting beyond belief. I would add being able to see and stalk multiple 50lb bulls every day while looking for that big bull over 70lb knowing there is a very real chance you could take one. Equipment Recommendations: Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? This is truly the experience of a lifetime. The Okavango Delta is exceptional is everyway. Spectacular numbers of elephant and game make it a hunter's pardise. This is "Trophy Elephant" area where there is a excellent chance of 60lb + bull.

This is the second time I have hunted with Jeff and Rann Safaris. The first time was in 1994 where I took a buffalo, lechwe and sitatunga. I promised myself I would return and after 13 years I am happy to report it is everything I remember. Exceptional in the game, the service and hunting experience. Lion and leopard still roam in great numbers. Elephants seem to have multiplied 3x and the plains game seemed to be constant sight. Really a pleasure to be back and a great place to bring the family (next time I will bring my daughters) I had my sights set on a 70lb bull and we hunted hard for 10 days before taking what ended up being a 69x65 bull. Two previous hunters took a 71lb bull and an 82lb bull in April..... I am certainly in no way dissappointed with the trophy bull I took. The experience was exceptional and would recommend it to those that can afford it. Truly Africa at its best.

Problems of Hunt: The Okavango Delta had received the most rain in 50 years. Many of the roads were flooded which limited access to the hunting areas.
