They did a wonderful job of entertaining my wife sightseeing and wine tours. Pack light, they do lanundry ever nite so bring only two sets of hunting clothes, in addition use their guns top quality and you don't have to check guns halfway around the world. My shot was 285yds dead on. Wonderful experience.

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
None. Every possible contingency has been anticipated and prepared for. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
Taking a huge 10 x 9 elk with double drop tines. Harvesting two world class Stag. The helicopter flight. Watching my son's face as he made great shots and harvested beautiful animals. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
Top of the line mountain boots, foul weather gear, optics. Be prepared for temps ranging from 35-80 F. It helps to be in good aerobic condition. It is a physical stalk and shoot hunt. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
yes |
| Why? |
This was my first big game hunting experience. It was recommended to me by friends who have done a lot of big game hunting. In particular, Kyle Ball, who has been once with his son. His research and experience convinced me to go with Gary Herbert. He was right. My son and I will never forget this experience. I will, and have, recommended this trip to several friends. |

Success first but I felt that Gary & his staff on a scale of 1 to 10 ranked with 10 being the best. A 10 PLUS. Marcus was my Guide. The professionalism was unsurpassed. I am a very serious Bowhunter & I have hunted out west & around the world alot & have taken some nice animals, I knew right off the bat that Marcus knew his stuff. Hunting Big Game animals is hard to get it done right & I felt every effort was made to help me get it done. Sure I saw a few stags a little bigger, but I am super pleased with the way it turns out, taking the biggest elk ever taken with this outfitter with a bow.

 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
This was the most organizied hunt I have ever been on. I was bow hunting and I should have brought an extra bow. My bow string came off the bow and the closest bow shop was one-day trip away (which they offered to bring me to get it fixed). Somehow, their staff and I figured how to get the string back on the bow without a bow press. They were so accommodating like that. Anything that I wanted, they tried as hard as possible to get it done. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
Bow hunting anytime is a challenge. To get to bow hunt these incredible trophies and just to see these trophies up close as you have to get to make a safe bow shot is an incredible adventure. I didn't think they could get me that close to such magnificent animals, but they did. It was not easy for them or me, but they prepared me for what I needed to do and put me in the right place at the right time. The helicopter hunt for tahr was an exciting addition to my planned hunt. The staff, other hunters and the guides are something I will always remember. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
Bring an extra bow if bow hunting. I would think that more bow hunting there would get some more bow shops available in the future. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
yes |
| Why? |
This was a better trip than I had imagined it would be. I have hunted many places and this was by far the best hunt I have taken. It was not terribly expensive for the number of huge trophies seen and the accommodations. |

| Physical Condition: |
I had some physical problems that required a knee replacement 1 year prior to this trip to New Zealand. I was still in good shape for this trip, and I needed to be for climbing mountains for bow shots. If you are gun hunting, they seem to be able to get you where you need to be with minimal physical exertion if needed. There was a 75 year old on our trip that got every trophy that he was hunting for. |

I have some great stories about my hunts and the people involved. I cannot write them all here, but know that this is definitely a trip of a lifetime. Gary runs a first class operation. From the time I met him when he came here to the U.S. to visit some prior and future hunters, to the end of my trip and after, he was the ultimate professional. He has first class accommodations and top notch staff and guides. Just look at his website and brochures. They do not lie. His place is beautiful. His trophies are some of the best as far as I can tell. The people who work with him are his family and close friends, so you are not likely to get something unexpected. Great food too. I plan to go back with my family for another trip. That should say it all.

Wonderful hunt from start to finish. Took stag the first day, elk the second, deer the third. Got both tahr and the chamois on the fourth day. Gary then arranged a flight for me to the North Island so I could catch up with my wife early. |

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
None. Every possible contingency has been anticipated and prepared for. THE most meticulous and prepared outfitter I've ever dealt with..anywhere in the world. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
Having the opportunity..No!..the privilege of sharing this experience with my wife of 30 years..Maury..as she had the opportunity to tour, travel and hunt in the pristine environment which is the South Island of New Zealand. Being by her side when she harvested her first big game animal, a gold medal red stag..and realizing at that moment that watching her perform under those mountain conditions was in point of fact, THE highlight of my entire hunting career. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
High quality mountain boots are an absolute MUST. All of the professionals that we were around wore Meindl boots, made in Germany. A twisted ankle here effectively ends your hunt. Also, excellent foul weather gear is essential. Everyone here wore SWAZI gear, manufactured in New Zealand...its simply the best. High quality optics, the best you can afford are important as well. All of the professionals here carry Swarovski 20-60X spotting scopes but having your own binoculars just takes the experience to the next level. Finally, a walking stick I found to be indispensable, providing extra stability especially when sidehilling in the mountains and for coming down the mountains at the end of a long day, when any mis-step could lead to a nasty fall. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
Yes |
| Why? |
I have been fortunate to have been able to hunt all over the world. I have been even more fortunate to have previously hunted with Gary Herbert in 2007 with our youngest son, John, so I had a very thorough knowledge of Gary's operation and knew what to expect. But let me tell you, when you travel with your wife...its a completely different experience. You want everything to go perfectly and without problem. Gary, his wife Louise and their fine staff made sure that is exactly what occurred. I've never seen my wife enjoy herself more; feel more safe about unfamiliar surroundings and come to love not only the country of New Zealand but her peoples as well. There is a hospitality here that must be seen to be believed. |

Attention to previously filed Hunt Report ID#5986, regarding March,2007 safari in New Zealand as mentioned above. Attention to 4 articles published in SAFARI magazine regarding 2007 safari in New Zealand 1) New Zealand- A Series of Firsts Nov/Dec.2007 2) Red Stag in the Matigouri March/April 2008 3) Elk Heaven-And Hell May/June 2008 4) 4 PHs + 1 Hunter = 1 Tahr July/August 2008 What an outstanding operation Gary and Louise Herbert run!! Arriving in Queenstown at least 1-3 days before your safari begins allows ample time to see the local sights in and around Qtown and also to decompress after what is a long and exhausting flight. The Novotel Lakeside is centrally located to everything in town and serves as a central access point for Gary's men when they come to drive you to the lodge. The lodge is simply spectacular, located near the end of the Ahuri Valley, central South Island, with scenic vistas out each and every window. The interior is as fine as any Ritz-Carlton one could imagine with huge, spacious rooms with king size beds. The food/wine and atmosphere is unmatched....and is only trumped by the hunting, which is literally out the back door of the Lodge and up into the mountains. The quality of game must be seen to be believed with superlative specimens of all of New Zealand's trophy animals present in perfusion. Red stag/elk/fallow/tahr/chamois/wild boar/goat... Gary has them all. The professional hunters that Gary employs are the cream of the crop and are outstanding people as well as expert mountain hunters. Polite, well spoken and intelligent about sums them up. Finally, his trophy care in the field and prepping for shipment is excellent as well. Gary's dad, Richard Herbert, handles all aspects of trophy prep/crating and shipping from his facility in Waimate. No one else can compete with their turnover time, which from harvest to arrival in the United States averages 40 DAYS... If you are looking for the adventure of a lifetime, in a pristine environment, around outstanding people....this is it... Bring your wife...bring your family...Gary Herbert's New Zealand Mountain Hunting Limited is ready!! Good Hunting!/Kyle

Taking a helicopter into our area to hunt tahr and chamois. We stayed in a back country hut where we climbed everyday until we got our tahr and chamois. Two more animals towards my capra world slam. Taking a monster red stag. Seeing Mount Cook from the helicopter. |

Gary is not only a great outfitter, but a great guy. He runs one of the best operations I have ever been to. Everyone at New Zealand Mountain hunting is very laid back and works hard to make sure you have a good time. My guide Marcus was an experienced fun guide. The lodge and accommodations were first class. The food was fantastic. One of the best hunts I have ever been on. If I was to go back to New Zealand to hunt or send a friend there, there is not a better person or outfitter to go with than Gary. |

Traveling for the first time to a new foreign hunting destination is quite intimidating. Gary Herbert has an extremely turbulent free operation. Every moment from arrival in Queenstown to departure was perfectly smooth. Queenstown was phenomenally beautiful and spending the first night and most of the next day wandering the streets was a brilliant, restful and pleasant part of Gary's plan. That day of sight seeing added tremendously to the memories of the trip. The drive from Queenstown to the hunting lodge was spectacular. The lodge is extremely beautiful with amazing views. Returning to the lodge following a hard day of hunting was almost decadent. The meals were phenomenal. Every member of Gary's staff was extremely efficient and very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening conversations with members of the staff as well as with my fellow hunters. The hunting was phenomenal with abundant healthy game. The degree of physical challenge was easily tailored to each individual hunter and could quickly be adjusted throughout the day. I was very energetic on the first day of hunting and accepted numerous challenges, day two found me sore and requesting a less physical hunt. Gary was easily able to adjust to my request and when I was ready he again increased the challenges. This flexibility was a central foundation piece for the entire trip and a focus of Gary's operation. I finished hunting a few days early and was offered the opportunity to relocate and hunt other species, change my flight and return home early, or explore the South Island. I chose to explore the South Island and Gary made quick comprehensive arrangements for a memorable affordable drive about. I highly recommend hunting in New Zealand and hunting with Gary Herbert's New Zealand Mountain Hunting in particular.

Gary runs an incredibly organized operation. His guides are very knowledgeable about the game and terrain. The accommodations are first class from start to finish. It was one of the most enjoyable hunts I have ever been on. We hunted for chamois by helicopter which was the most exciting hunt I have ever been on. |

HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL |

|
I booked our hunt with FTW Outfitters, Inc., owned by Tim and David Fallon. This was the third hunt we booked through them; as usual, they were totally responsive to questions we had right up to departure time, and they checked up on us by email during and after our trip. They are real pros.
I am blessed with four sons who hunt, and we had been discussing a trip to New Zealand for several years. This year, we finally did it, and also took along two other of my sons who do not hunt. My son Thomas, age 15, loves the outdoors and has accompanied me on hunts, but has expressed doubts as to whether he personally really would/could kill an animal. IT was my private hope that he would return from this trip as a hunter. I shared this thought with Gary Herbert and my guide, Jamie.
We started out with an airline horror story. A series of late flights, with our flight from LA to Auckland delayed by five hours. We missed our connection to Queenstown, and were told by Air New Zealand that the only way we could get there would be the next day's flight, which would cut our expected hunting time down from 6 1/2 days to 5 1/2. We went to our hotel room, tired and disappointed, but confident that we would at least arrive in camp the next day. I did call and leave Gary a voice message telling him the circumstances. Shortly thereafter, I was paged at the hotel, and it was Gary on the phone. He was very concerned that we would lose too much hunting time, especially with bad wether forecast in a few days. He had arranged for his personal travel agent to investigate, and she had discovered that our promised seats on the next day's flight were only standby. He booked an alternate flight to Christchurch that very afternoon and we were able to get to the hunt camp that night. Doing that cost Gary's people an extra eight-hour drive, but we were hunting at dawn the next morning and lost only a few hours hunting time. It took quite a bit of detective work for Gary to even find out where we were (which hotel) because the airline refused to release the information. He really went the extra mile for us, and it paid off because the next morning all five of us shot nice tahr, and that afternoon two of us got our chamois.
All five of us hunters got red stag, tahr and chamois. Four of the stags were gold medal, and the fifth opted to take a very nice silver medal stag. Three of us hunted wapiti, and all three took very nice animals...350 class. My son Jon and I took great fallow deer. At the end, all of us got every one of the animals on our "list", plus we shot black swans, wallaby and other varmints.
Near the end of the hunt, we went out after boar. Jamie was the dog handler. We hunted boar both with and without dogs. Both Gary and Jamie had been gently conditioning Thomas to shoot an animal if he got the chance, and Jamie had especially been talking to him about "sticking" a boar. Thomas went out with the dogs and Jamie, and a couple of the others, while I went on a spot and stalk hunt. When I returned to camp after dark, the grin on Thomas' face told it all. He had killed his first animal. He had stuck a 175 pound wild boar. The next night he shot wallaby and rabbits, and we are now talking about the upcoming deer season here in South Carolina.
It was a great hunt in so many ways...really in every way. What do you think was MY highlight?

Excellent flight from LAX to Auckland. Adverse weather forced a diversion from our final destination of Queenstown to Invercargill, 150 miles south on the south coast of the South Island. Had buses waiting for us there and had to endure a 3 hour bus ride to Queenstown. This was unfortunate but totally unforeseen. Upon our return flight, Qantas left 150 bags at the airport which had to be shipped the next day to LAX and then onto our final destination. We were also 1 1/2 hrs late getting into LA and thus missed our connections. Due to a backlog of passengers secondary to bad weather on the east coast of the US, we joined about 7,000 other clients scrambling for any available seats. Qantas/American put us up in a hotel and provided meals, but it was Monday before they finally got us to our final destination(2 nights in LA.) The baggage problem is what triggered the whole episode in my mind. |

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
None. Every contingency had been anticipated and planned for. The most meticulous and prepared outfitter I've ever dealt with. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
Getting to spend this time with my son and observing his part of the hunt and the taking of his trophies. Also hunting in the Southern Alps lends itself to some outstanding scenery. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
High quality mountain boots are an absolute must. A twisted ankle here ends your hunt. Also, excellant foul weather gear. All of our guides wore SWAZI gear, manufactured in New Zealand. Optics are important as well. All of the guides carry top line spotting scopes but having your own binoculars just enhances the experience. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
Yes |
| Why? |
This without doubt is the finest hunt, in all respects, that I have ever been on. Everyone goes on a safari like this one with a long list of expectations, and more often than not, must settle for less than they had hoped for. This was the trip in which EVERY SINGLE expectation that we had, was not only met but EXCEEDED. It was almost like being in a dream to realize all that is involved in putting on this type of hunting adventure. These people are uniquely situated to make all of that come into being. We felt like we were the only clients that they had for the entire time we were there, despite there being several other groups in camp. |

HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL |

There are several comments I'd like to add for completeness sake.... 1) Facilities--my son and I were one of the first clients to utilize Gary's new Lodge, which is set in a valley surrounded by the majestic Southern Alps, leading up Mt. Cook, which is NZ's highest peak. The Lodge is set on a ridge that allows panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The accommodations are spacious with king size beds/satellite TV and internet connections available. His skinning shed is a walk-in cooler, with ample room for even the largest animals, and easy access from the Lodge. The guides quarters are set just behind the Lodge but close enough to foster close interaction between the clients and their professionals. Gary doesn't keep the staff separate from the clients...we all met together in the great room each evening to share a drink/discuss the days hunting and plans for next day as well as sharing all meals together. This, I believe, fosters a real "family" feel to the whole operation and allows us to get to know them better, not only as hunters, but as people. We enjoyed this aspect of the trip immensely. 2) Lodge Staff- from the cooks to the ladies charged with keeping this huge Lodge clean, these folks were pleasant/cordial and very helpful. The food can only be described as "fantastic". From grilled game meat to lobster tails...we had it all and enjoyed it all. Served buffet style, absolutely no one left the table hungry. 3) Equipment--Gary has built his own airstrip at the Lodge and has under contract for the entire hunting season a fixed wing Cessana to ferry clients both to/from Queenstown and also between the various hunting properties that he owns/controls on the South Island. He also has daily access to state of the art helicopters, which are used both for touring as well as the higher alpine pursuit of tahr and chamois. Both pilots are very experienced, seasoned professionals. 4) Game quality--this is what separates Gary from just about everyone else in NZ. His hunting areas are just loaded with high quality game. My son and I were looking at top quality animals each and every day. Just because we could see them didn't mean we could get them....the terrain makes sure of that!!! The alpine hunting is very steep and so reminiscent of sheep hunting conditions in the Yukon and British Columbia. Being in good shape is a must and I found a walking stick an invaluable aid in both ascents and descents into and out of those canyons and ravines. The brush is quite thick so we would get above them and glass down or stay in the valleys and glass up. 5)Hunting staff--this is what really impressed me the most. All 6 of Gary's professional guides literally hunt the year around. They guide for the NZ season which is Febuary-July and then travel to Alaska to guide for Dall and Stone sheep from August-October. All are mid 20s to early 30s and in top physical condition. Added to that are some of the best "people" skills that I have ever encountered and you have the makings of a top flight professional and an unforgettable adventure. Usually, in my experience, you'll find one man that really stands out in a group of other guides, but honestly....all of these guys were impressive and each one of the clients in camp(me included) felt like they had the "best" guide. What a luxury that is!!! There was a real "can do" attitude amongst all of these men and all readily pitched in to accomplish any task that needed attention. No slackers in this bunch and their lead was provided by Gary Herber, who was always leading from the front and not just sitting around issuing directions. This was most impressive to see in action. Needless to say, my son and I were the recipients of the adventure of a lifetime and I can only hope for my fellow hunters that you too can enjoy a total adventure like we have, just once in a lifetime. 6)Don't forget the extras while in NZ. Don't miss the opportunity to visit a sheep station and observe the sheep dogs in action. It is worth the extra effort...simply fantastic!! Queenstown is also not to be missed. It is the Adventure capitol of the world and once there you'll see exactly what I mean. Gary proudly says that "you can kill yourself more ways for less than $100 in New Zealand than anywhere else in the world"!! Hope you get to enjoy this opportunity. Regards/Kyle

Gary has an excellent portfolio of hunting opportunities located in the central and western part of the South Island. This offers his clients a wonderful opportunity to customize their New Zealand hunting interests to their specific desires. All the staff from the lodges we stayed in, to the guiding, were both attentive and professional throughout our stay. And with New Zealand offering so much to the non-hunting guests as well, Melissa did a great job touring Tanya and Nikita while I was out hunting, with various excursions and activities. Also, Gary's trophy handling on site is absolutely as good as it can be. My trophies were processed (cleaned and prepped), permitted, and crated, and ready for shipment to the USA three weeks following my hunt. He personally makes sure that the trophies you worked so hard for on your hunt, are handled expertly to get them shipped back home. As for hunting in August, the end of the New Zealand season, this was a great surprise. The weather was very good, except for a day here or there (little snow and rain), and as I avoided the plus 95 degree back home, found it a perfect destination for those who want to get away from the USA summer heat, especially to hunt! And the other two weeks we spent touring the South and North Islands on our own was another great trip in itself. So much to see and do in New Zealand.

HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL |
 |
|
Heading for this year's convention, I had three objectives in mind: to take one or more animals not previouslly hunted; to hunt a fifth continent towards my goal of hunting all six continents to incude my wife, who is not a big game hunter, but who loves to travel.
Arriving at the convention, our first stop was to visit our good friends Fernando and Koki Saiz, professional hunters form Spain. As usual, Nano had the solution: New Zealand. He personally introduced us to Gary Herbert, owner of New Zealand Moutnain Hunting LTD. And after a short visit, we booked a seven day hunt for a Himalayan Tahr, Chamois and a Red Stag.
July came fast and we were soon on our way to Gary's lodge at Fox Glacier on the South Island of New Zealand to hunt the Tahr and Chamois. At first light we boarded a helicopter to transport us to the Alpine hunting area. This is some of the most beautiful real estate in earth. It is also very rugged and challenging to hunt.
Shortly after landing, we scoped a tahr and after a short stalk, we were comfortable with the range. It was still cold and early and the animal had grazed out of sight. Proving that patience is a valuble virtue for hunting, several hours of waiting paid off when I spotted him 180 yards out. The 300 mag took him in the low left chest and the bullet excited the spine. Yes, it was that steep. He fell 500 yards into heavy, dense, almost impossible brush. Gary Herbert was about to re-define the term "Extra Mile".
I followed Gary into the dense brush until it became too steep and dangerous for me. I guarded the backpacks for an hour until Gary returned with the mixed news. It was beautiful 10 years old bull, undamaged by the fall. He was wedged by his head from a tree crotch. The only way to get him out was by the helicopter. We made the call by satellite phone and I overheard Gary ask for the cable.
The copter arrived shortly after we extracted ourselves from the bush. Gary told me to stand by and proceeded to mount the end of the 30 foot cable. This experienced pilot expertly lifted my cable clutching guide 100's of feet and then transported him more than a quarter of a mile out where he lowered him into the brush and hovered while Gary secured the Tahr. Within five minutes, the cable came up with Gary and the Tahr swinging from the end. Like a well rehearsed acobatic act, the pilot covered the distance and gently deposited the Tahr and my guide a few feet from me and my well used camera.
After retrieving Gary's other successful hunter and his guide Stacy, we coptered our way back to the lodge. That evening we all enjoyed good food and reliving the day.
Day two was for Chamois hunting. This appeared to be in slightly more "user friendly" terrain. Or so I thought. We did some side hilling between spotting stops after several hours descended down a steep and brushy canyon. We spotted a good chamois and stalked mostly down, to 280 yards. I made a goodshot, but we were close on running out of time as the copter was already in the air with my once again successful hunting partner and his guide Stacy. We hitched a ride and left the mountain side. After securing the trophies we were back at the lodge celebratring a most successful Chamois hunt. In two days I had shot 2 great.
Our third day we did a little sight seeing and traveled down to Gary's Stag lodge in Wanaka.
Day four found us on the road before sun up to enable us to hunt for stag at day break. This was a gold medal hunt. After five hours of hunting, we had carefully examined five stags. About 30 minutes later, we spotted two stags about 1/2 mile off. The wind was good, so we stalked to 280 yards and took the larger of the two. This stag was a solid 23pt - 350 green score beauty. My guide Stacy packed the cape and antlers out and we left the meat there as a helicopter was coming that evening to recover the meat.
Day five produced a Merriam Tom Turkey early in the day and following this we made the trip to Gary's Waimate lodge. We spent a day or two touring the east side of south island. My wife had already seen most of the island with Kerryn, her excellent guide and including a helicopter trip to Fox Glacier. She greatly enjoyed the New Zealand experience.
On the final day, Gary's lovely wife Louise, our hostess at Waimate lodge, dellivered us to Christ Church where we prepared for our journey home.
New Zealand has it all. If you are up to hunting a challenging enviornment for quality animals call Gary Herbert. If you want to score some major points take your wife.

Condition Comments: |
Each specie hunted provided a fair chase hunting experience. Numbers for each species were noted as moderate to plentiful, with quality being very good to excellent on trophy size. Terrain encountered was quite rugged for each of my hunts, especially for the tahr and chamois, which was high alpine rain forest. I considered the helicopter travel to each of the alpine spike camps as a must, as packing in would have required too much time to reach the areas hunted. The red deer and fallow hunting were also conducted in a mountainous area within driving distance of B&B accommodation. (This area reminded me of the Missouri Breaks in Montana, but a lot higher and steeper. The hunts were conducted by classic spot and stalk hunting. My hunts also allowed for a good deal of hiking. Although the deer hunts were in an enclosed area, to ensure the quality, I only encountered the fence once, which was upon entering the area. We did not encounter another boundary of the area during my hunt. |

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
None experienced during my entire stay with NZ Mountain Hunting. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
The ability to hunt such variety of game in such a beautiful landscape. The tahr and chamois hunts near Fox Glacier/Mt. Cook. The helicopter hops into and out of the mountains! Also, following the completion of my hunting, touring Queenstown and the surrounding region - vineyards, villages, pubs, restaurants, and friendly locals. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
Good mountain boots and weather gear. A flat shooting rifle - mid caliber. Good foul weather gear. |

| Why? |
Gary Herbert provides a high quality and well outfitted hunting and touring experience in a beautiful country. From my experience, he can provide any client with the type of hunting he or she is not only interested in, but a trip that is also specifically tailored to their physical abilities. Especially considering the ruggedly beautiful part of the trip - for tahr and chamois hunting in the Southern Alps region surrounding Fox Glacier. My hunt was conducted in four different areas and the traveling and accommodations were very well coordinated with virtually no time lost due to location and/or winter weather changes. Trips between areas also proved to be good sightseeing opportunities. Gary also accompanied me on my hunts, along with guide Simon Camastrel, who proved to also be a first rate guiding/hunting/hiking/climbing machine in his own words. Both provided a great hunt and were well experienced in guiding their clients. Chartered helicopter service also demonstrated some of the best flying in mountainous terrain that I have experienced, in both good and winter weather conditions. |
