GAME DESCRIPTION
Major Game Animals Taken: Argali - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Gobi argali. Excellent.
Game Sought But Not Taken: Ibex - Availability: Had opportunity but found out later gun had been dropped and was 24 inches off.
Game Condition Comments: Argali sheep were seen daily of trophy size and quality. Ibex quality and numbers were not as abundant. Literally hunted ibex just outside of a village of 5,000 people.

Problems of Hunt: Communication, guides know no English, food is poor.
Highlights of Hunt: Seeing many argali sheep every day. Was dissappointed hunting ibex literally just outside a village. Travel conditions very tiring.

Why? With reservations, excellent place to harvest a respectable Gobi, travel conditions and accommodations fair at best.

Game Condition Comments: It was a hellish road to the camp about eight hours from the airport. I had been warned by a friend to take a back brace and a blow up neck brace and blow it up hard. I'll forever thank him for the advice. Very hardest part of the hunt.

Problems of Hunt: None, everything very well organized.
Highlights of Hunt: Saw ibex second day late, had six pair of eyes looking for them the third day, finally spotted them 1 pm. One hour 20 minute stalk - 22 yards, no meat wasted.
Equipment Recommendations: Being absolute sheep shape. Know your rifle, good boots.

Wolf - Availability: Average - Trophy Size: Gray wolf. Large male 16 5/16.

Game Condition Comments: Gobi argali very plentiful and doing well. I observed 14 rams in the 50-inch category. Siberian elk very scarce and hard to find good trophy class. Gray wolf, difficult animal to see no matter where you are.

Game Condition Comments: The areas we hunted the Altai argali were very scarce. I did not see a sheep the first eleven days of the hunt. Saw only nine sheep on hunt and shot a 14 year old ram on last day.

We completely agree with the assessment of Greg Bond. There is no conflict here whatsoever. Greg clearly states his expectations were too high for this hunt, since the typical ram taken from the High Altai in recent years is 55 inches or less. Greg harvested a mature 14-year old ram that he was happy with.

Game Condition Comments: High population of Hanghai sheep. I observed and or passed over 50 trophy quality rams before locating my super ram. Many gazelle. I rode a camel on my gazelle hunt. Ibex hunting is tough.
