I booked my hunt with Safari North with Steve Fullerton. The hunt was for Buff & Bantang. When I arrived I was told that my Bantang area fell through. Steve was on the phone nonstop working out a plan for my Bantang. As it worked out Kevin allowed us to hunt his area for bantang. Not onlydid I get to hunt my Bantang he let me hunt the Sambar on no more than a handshake!I spoke to Kevin in Reno for the past 2 yrs re the Sambar and as luck had it I got to hunt both with Steve and Kevin.We even got to do some Barramundi fishing at no extra cost.Both these guys are top notch and give 110%

Deer, Rusa - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Cull animal. Deer, Rusa - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Cull animal. Deer, Axis - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Cull animal. Game Sought But Not Taken: Game Condition Comments: All animals in good condition. Banteng, blackbuck, hog deer, javan rusa and good sambar were all seen in good numbers. Lots of buffalo.

Problems of Hunt: None, ran like clockwork. Highlights of Hunt: Taking a big Australian buffalo and being able to take two other species of deer on the same hunt. Being in Australia with the Gleesons and team - great people. Equipment Recommendations: Bring a bloody great big rifle that you can shoot well and some very tough soft points like Barnes X Pair of short cotton sock protectors. More cash for extra trophies. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? For a high end representative trophy class Asiatic buffalo, good banteng, sambar, axis, Javan and Moluccan rusa, Blackbuck in a week or so of rifle hunting, with comfortable walking I do not believe this place can be beaten. From the cape buff, I have shot and seen shot these are a lot tougher. Great food and excellent company go withot saying. The other client in camp shot a 93" SCI buff and then went for another which scored 106". 110"+ buff are shot every year. Ask Kevin about helicopter scouting In all a bit like a good African hunt but without the nasties. You could bring your son, daughter, wife etc. Would make a good bow hunt if you limited the number of animals or extended the time,

Problems of Hunt: Highlights of Hunt: Being led by PH to a spot surrounded 180 degrees by wild water buffalo all within 15 yards. Equipment Recommendations: Bow hunting water buffalo requires special broadheads, arrow weights, and bow poundage. The water buffalo is regarded as being the toughest game to penetrate - more so than cape buffalo, elephant or even rhino. Consultation with PH prior to bow hunt is highly recommended to ensure that the bow hunter has and practices with appropriate equipment. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? Excellent dangerous game hunt for the largest horned animal. Unlike most outfitters, Mary River actually hunts it own free range lands rather than concessions. Accommodation is a recently built lodge rather than a seasonal or spike camp. Good for families. Additional trophy species like Javan Rusa and Moluccan Rusa deer, sambar deer, hog deer, chittal deer, etc are available on large fenced estate.
