The trophy quality of the rams was excellent. Every hunter in camp was sucessful; all took 9 1/2 year old rams or older. The ram I took was "average for horn measurement - four were smaller and three were bigger.

Stan's use of his own planes allowed to move me and my guide to different areas, depending on what we were focused on for that hunt. I harvested my Dall sheep - an old, heavy-horned/broomed ram on the second day from our first spike camp. We then moved back to the main camp (Mountain Lake) where I shot a great mountain caribou - 391 B&C gross and a big wolf (seven feet plus), hunting within two to three miles of camp. We continued to hunt for moose in this area, but the rut was just coming on and after a couple of days, we only found smaller bulls and a bunch of cows. We (my guide and fellow hunter, Mark Fountain of Massachusetts) then moved our moose hunt to a spike camp on the Mountain River. On the second day, we both took our bulls, mine 59-incher (estimated 214 B&C) with great fronts and Mark's a super 61-incher.

However, they assessed excess baggage charges for antlers and meat differently for each passenger - some getting charged more than others.

Problems of Hunt: Highlights of Hunt: Too many to list! Unbelievably beautiful country to hunt. The picture perfect basin where I took my ram. The grizzly that took over my caribou shortly after we depart with no trouble. Jeff "Wolfman" Scouten howling in wolves from 3/4 miles away to give me a shot! And the sight of my huge moose Equipment Recommendations: Good optics. Good lightweight rain gear. I have had good luck with Browning pac pants/jacket and a Marmot XCR jacket. Both dry easily.
