Kirabo has a very large area with ideal game conditions, great cover and over 25 species available. Many SCI and Rowland Ward animals are taken at Kirabo. You are given first class care and treatment from the moment you contact them until you leave them. It is a place where you want to return. |

The bushbuck that got away. Because he gave us a reason to return. Long shot (300m) on black wildebeest. Opportunity for great stalks on quality game. The food was incredible. |

If hunt is in Limpopo a typical whitetail deer rifle is sufficient (typically 100 yards or less). For the Krugersdorp, shots can be 300 meters so plan accordingly. Rangefinder binoculars are on my shopping list for next time. |

Perfect place to experience Africa for the first time. The Wentzels are incredible hosts. Every detail is taken care of and the food was fabulous! Nicholas is a great chef and the PHs are great company in the bush and around the fire in the evening. |

This is a perfect first trip to Africa hunt! Hard to believe the hunt costs less money than most guided North American big game hunts! All around great experience for two years in a row! The hunting was spectacular, the hosts were gracious, quickly made all feel like part of the family. The lodge is truly first class, clean and comfortable! Lots of great experiences for all! This hunt should be particularly appealing for those hunters who are accompanied by a non-hunter. A bonus highlight of our trip was that we also visited area parks for photo safari with the folks from Kirabo. Pilanesburg and Kruger in South Africa. Also went to Chobe in Botswana and Victoria Falls in Zimababwe. All local air/ground travel and park visits were expertly arranged by Dierdre Mathews at Come-C-Africa, www.come-c-africa.com, +27(0)114755600, please call her to make arrangement to extend your stay and visit the last wild places in the world. The photography opportunities included month old lion cubs at twenty feet and a family of elephants wallowing in the mud thirty yards from the truck. Dierdre can tailor your trip to meet your time and budget. We expect Jaco to visit the states in January/February for the show circuit...Reno, Harrisburg and others, I recommend that you try to see him then. A trip to Africa, shooting up to five animals including airfare at roughly $1,200 for regular seats can be made for less than an antelope hunt to various places in the US. The accommodations and general treatment is all first class and can not be beat. The one major problem with going to a place like Kirabo is that from the day you leave you dream of when and how you can return.

We enjoy The Hunting Report so much, especially the Extra Reports.
It would be great if the people would list the types of rifle used and cartridges, we feel that would be helpful.
Our rifle was a custom Mauser .375 H&H and we used Barnes Gr. 235 G TSX. They worked well on everything.
When planning our trip we contacted the Afton Guest House and while sorting out the accommodations Christa was told that the gentlemen was too busy and simply hung up on her with no explanation.
Through our outfitter we made contact with Nkanga Lodge - Mrs. Jane Swanepole who sorted us out. They picked us up at the airport in Johannesburg with a smile, a 10-15 minute drive to their B&B which is fantastic. It is a lovely private oasis in the suburbs. The rooms are all new, there is a beautiful lake full of birds and wildlife, a storage (vault) for your guns, the food adding a pound or two. They are hunters and do they make you feel welcome, great people. They have great young lady who own her own cab company who transported us to Rowland Ward, shopping and wherever we wanted as we spent two days in the area before going on safari. She knew both the men and ladies. She stays with you and is very lovely indeed.
The prices at the B&B - more a very upmarket motel and the personal cab service was very reasonable. We came away as part of their family and cannot wait to get back for a visit, I still carry the card from the cab lady as we only have one.
Oh, the B&B has a beautiful bar and the drinks are again very reasonable.
With so many of our readers going through Johannesburg these folks can certainly make your trip and life much brighter. They are being made welcome and feeling safe without breaking the bank. We will pay the bill if the service is not great.

We enjoy the Hunting Report so much especially the Extra Reports.
It would be great if the people would list the type of rife used and cartridge, we feel that would be very helpful.
Our rifle was a custom Mauser .375 H&H and we used Barnes 235 Gr. TSX. They worked well on everything.
When planning our trip we contacted the Afton Guest House and while sorting out the accommodations. Christa was told that the gentlemen was too busy and simply hung up on her with no explanation.
Through our outfitter we made contact with Nkanga Lodge - Mrs. Jane Swanepole who sorted us out. They picked us up at the airport in Johannesburg with a smile, a 10-15 minute drive to their B&B which is fantastic. It is a lovely private oasis in the suburbs. The rooms are all new, there is a beautiful lake full of bird and wildlife, a storage vault for your guns, the food is sadly too good (it is not possible to leave without adding a pound or two). They are hunters and do they make you feel welcome, great people. They have a great young lady who owned her own cab company who transported us to Rowland Ward, shopping and wherever we wanted as we spent two days in the area before going on safari. She knew every area, shortcut and place of interest to both the men and ladies. She stays with you and is very lovely indeed.
The prices at the B&B - more a very upmarket motel and the personal cab service was very reasonable. We came away as part of their family and can not wait to get back for a visit. I shall carry the card from the cab lady as we only have one.
Oh, the B&B has a beautiful bar and the drinks are again very reasonable.
With so many of our readers going through Johannesburg these folks can certainly make your trip of life much brighter. They are relatively new but if you appreciate kindness, being made welcome and feeling safe without breaking the bank we will pay the bill if the service is not great.
