The shots were moving and farther than my my shooting ability. I missed. Game Condition Comments: We hunted a variety of concessions across the Eastern Cape. I gave my PH my trophy list and we hunted five or six different concessions. Each concession had quality trophies of a few species. When one concession didn't work due to a recreational ultralight helicopter scaring the game we easily moved onto another concession.

Problems of Hunt: Highlights of Hunt: We encountered Cape buffalo and rhino during our plains game hunts which added even more excitement. The food was spectacular and the photo safaris out of Lalibela kept my fiancee occupied while I was out hunting. Equipment Recommendations: Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? They took care of me very well and kept my non-hunting fiancee entertained. My fiancee was supposed to fly in several days into my hunt, but there was a mixup at the airport. The camp manager did a great job working the phones and one of the camp rangers was going to stay overnight at the airport just in case she came in on the early morning flight. They went above and beyond the call of duty and everything got worked out quickly.

I have been on a number of safaris and this one was top notch. Everything was first rate -- hunting, facilities, food, hosts, and many first class special touches. Hunted with Carl Van Zijl, and he proved to be an exceptional PH. John X Safaris' motto is "not the cheapest, just the best," appeared to be spot on. They paid very close attention to ensuring that all of my hunting goals were met, and were very attentive hosts. This would also be a superb destination to take a family. I would recommend John X Safaris without reservation.

A few words about John X Safaris. I found the camp to be well run and well organized. The food was very good and the transportation excellent. There are not enough blanks on the report to truly tell what a great hunt this was. Dave Harwood the booking agent was most helpful with his information on what to take and what to expect in Africa, he was right on on every question I had about this hunt. Great job. Dave will be calling again to book another hunt with John X. Rick & Sue run a great safari with a super staff. At camp everything we asked for or needed was taken care of with a smile. Being from the south I know that southern hospitality but as southerners we can learn from the people at John X. The food was outstanding in every respect. Great job Tian. I gained weight even though we put in 10 to 12 hours a day in the bush and mountains. Our PH Braun Olcker was outstanding, always a smile and always positive no matter what the situation, even on the last day of our hunt he tried to talk me into taking a trophy kudu but I elected to look for the one I had drawn blood from earlier with a smile he agreed and thanked me for the decision. When you book a hunt like this, part of the fun is planning and dreaming what a hunt like this will be. John X was beyond all expectations. Thanks again to all the people at John X and Dave Harwood for a hunt my wife and I will never forget.
