Game Sought But Not Taken: Lion - Availability: I hunted a very large male lion, lioness hit the bait, but he would not come in . There was a lot of lion sign and I heard lions at night. It is just the way hunting goes at times. Game Condition Comments: It was a nice physical hunt in wild country.

Game Condition Comments: The game in all three locations were in very good shape. We did see a couple of young elephants that had an injured foot or leg. There are lots of poachers in Sichifulo.

Problems of Hunt: In Sichifulo there was too much grass. A lot of water holes had not yet dried up due to late rains in May. Also, the game was scarce. Poaching was also a problem. Highlights of Hunt: I finally goat a roan on the nineth safari and got a shot at a leopard in a tree! Sitatunga and big sable. Also, the staff speaking English. Equipment Recommendations: 375 shotgun (because of bush) for fun bird shooting and good bug repellant for tsetse flies. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? I would recommend the hunt but go later in the season.

Warthog - Availability: None large enough. Game Condition Comments: Too many lions, hyenas, predators, zebra and buffalo down.

Problems of Hunt: Hyena raided camp and was killed on the second night he raided. Highlights of Hunt: Shooting large 40 inch cape buffalo. Successful long running shot at good reedbuck in long grass swamp. Equipment Recommendations: Detachable (Warne) scope mount for .375 H & H Brno Rifle (exact same zero after removal and reattachment). Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? I would recommend the hunt but don't go two for one if partner is cat hunting.
