Traveled by pack train to high camp (solid cabins w/ stoves - there was even a shower!) and rode from there each morning as far as horses could manage, then on foot. I'm old enough to know better than to try to keep up with my guide Jason, but I did anyway and suffered the consequences. Got up to elevations of about 7000 ft. Shoot your goat late and you'll probably ride home in the dark! Horses (and mules) docile and sure-footed. Saw a good-sized grizzly; another party saw wolves but couldn't get a clear shot.

We hunted out of two different camps. The first was excellent. After a week, we moved to Bob's base camp area. The late snows blocked the road to that camp and we stayed in a spike camp. While cramped, it had everything we needed. I have hunted from Bob's base camp on other hunts, and it also is excellent.
I flew Northwest from Memphis throught Minneapolis to Calgary. Clearing the rifle in Calgary was a little slow but no problem. The major cause of the slowness was due to the very time we arrived in Calgary. There were three other people with firearms, and two different couples who had items to declare. The Canadian personnel were professional and courteous. Clearing the rifle back through US Customs was no problem.
I booked this hunt some years ago. The Canadian government closed the grizzly hunting a couple of times, and my grand-daughter was born during the bear hunting season two-years ago. Thus you should check Bob's current pricing. My view is he is high but worth it.
