Condition Comments: |
Game was plentiful. This is game ranch country, so they will be able to find most of the plains game one is looking for. In this area, the trophy quality is lower than other areas of South Africa but so are the prices. For a Father-Son hunt where my 12 year old son was the primary hunter, this worked out better for us. |

| Highlights
of Hunt: |
My 12 year old son was the primary hunter on this trip. This requires a patient and easy going PH. And Abrie and Bertus fit this bill so to speak. They were great PHs for my son. And we had a successful and good trip. As the Father, I will remember it for a life time. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
This is game ranch country, so the hunting is fairly easy. In this area, which is dry, the game ranches tend to have lots of open spaces, which makes spotting the game easy. For someone looking for an easier hunt, this is a good choice. So, no special equipment required. |

HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL |

|
I am submitting the following story for consideration on a hunt that is very good and affordable. The thing that is not made clear normally is the difference between the ranch type hunts in South Africa and the true African experience that one has on the camp type safaris in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Mozambique.
I have had the pleasant experience of both. I honestly don't believe the first time hunter has any idea why he is paying $500 to $1,200 daily fee for one and as low as $200 a day for others. Both are fine and offer chance at wide varieties of game. However the true African experience one reads about, or at least the closest one can come in our time is much more expensive by necessity. This isn't always clear to the first time safari hunter.
The report I am sending is with a new company and as you know there are countless game style ranches in South Africa from 250 acres up to 100, 000. The ranch accommodations are often plush. These are what I would call average. The daily price is very reasonable the trophy fees are also average or lower. The father and son work as a team. They own several ranches that sport different type of game of the plains variety. The effort they will go to see that the hunt is acceptable to the client is unsurpassed. They furnish requested drinks including delicious South African wines. The food is very good and they will adjust to the hunter's need or requests. We had several cook out lunches including "T" bone steaks.
I have told them that I felt that they would do well to place an ad in "The Hunting Report." I am enclosing their fax, phone, and telephone along with their address so you can send them information required to advertise.
