I contracted tick fever in the Umkomaas. But, successfully treated with doxycycline once I got home. Might be good to treat your clothes with permethrin. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
All of the hunting was true free range. The PHs were great. Camps were very comfortable for our womenfolk, who we brought along. Night hunted some varmints and predators. Huntable species were numerous in all camps. |

Recommendations: |
I used: Kimber Caprivi in 375 H&H and Sako 85S in 338 Federal. Leica Geovid range finding binoculars. Come prepared to shoot well at 250 yards. |

Greg Rodriguez (GAO) is a genius. Besides booking the hunting, Greg arranged for our wives to make a side trip on the Garden Route, that they absolutely loved. We used Steve Turner (www.travelwithguns.com) for our travel. He got us good prices on our air travel, IMO. Steve also provided helpful troubleshooting on various snafus typical with Africa travel while we were moving around within the RSA. Steve also booked us into the Jock Safari Lodge within Kruger NP for a post-hunt side trip. This was an unbelievable experience for all of us. While over-nighting in Johannesburg, we stayed at the Afton Guest House. These people were awesome in our stay and helping us with our connections.

Crusader only hunts free ranging non high fenced animals which is almost unheard of in South Africa. They access to over 800,000 acres of hunting properties throughout eastern cape and Netal. Some travel required between camps depending on which animals sought. |

Andrew, Chris, Skalk are all excellent guides. Honest and fair people. The country is wide open with a variety of terrain unlike most of the fenced country in South Africa. A truly worthwhile experience. Cape kudu are quite numerous and very big. The best part is that most of their country seldom gets penetrated by hunting. |

Andrew and Chris continued to follow up on trophy care and communicate with me on a regular basis after the hunt. I found both of these young men to be of uncommonly high morals and ethics. I would not hestitate to recommend them to anyone. They were energetic, resourceful and relentless.
