Outstanding safari. Game was abundant and Warren Thorne and his staff went miles beyond to insure a great experience. My nephew Trevor also got a leopard and a 40 inch buffalo. Two leopards in one hunt. Call Joe DaSilva to book your next hunt. Zimbabwe was perfectly safe. We felt safer in Zimbabwe than we did in South Africa. |

At one point we had four different leopards on bait. Their Gache fishing camp (hunting for croc and hippo) on Lake Kariba is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. |

The hunt took place in the Charara Safari area adjacent to Lake Kariba and on Ruwanzi Ranch (first two days for bait). I hunted with Ray Townsend of Chapungu Safaris and everything was first class. Having hunted in Africa more than 15 times I can say that hunting with Ray is an absolute pleasure as he always tries (and with me two times succeded) to give the hunter true value for his money. In 1999 I shot a 54-pounder in the Sanyati Campfire area where you usually only get 35-40 pounders max.
The flight with SAA was very pleasant, customs in Zimbabwe easy and there were no safety problems at all.
Ray's area is abundant with leopard, crocodile and hippopotamus and there are many elephant as well.
