We both took HUGE bears, and spent the rest of the hunt fishing. The fishing was awesome too, grayling, northern pike, walleye, and lake trout! :)

Problems of Hunt: Our only glitch was that we were stuck in Thompson an extra day due to weather issues, charter flight could not fly. You can't really call this a "problem" as it was uncontrollable circumstances. Highlights of Hunt: The landscape was amazing, John was a fantastic guide, it's basically self guided, as they drop you at the stand and you look for bear at and around the baits... incredibly, my husband and I shot bears within 10 minutes of each other... he was several miles away, but he heard me shoot, and a bit later, I heard him shoot! It was on our first hunting evening! We spent the rest of our time checking baits, looking at other bears, relaxing, and fishing. I will be back with Gangler's to enjoy all their opportunities, Caribou, Moose, and fishing. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Fantastic trip! Equipment Recommendations: THERMACELL! The mosquitoes are huge and bloodthirsty! Dress in layers, got warm on afternoons, but cold during evenings and mornings. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? yes Why? I already have! Upon arrival in camp after lunch on June 10th, we discovered that the tent we were to be utilizing had a hole in at least one spot. There were no chairs or table to utilize when eating. Our guide who had been dropped off several days prior to camp to prepare for our arrival and to get the hunting stands and bear baits prepared, had been provided a satellite phone to use in contacting the base camp for emergencies and supplies. This was not working. Consequently he was unable to notify the main lodge about the short comings in his camp. Fortunately we had a satellite phone with us and were able to communicate with the base camp. We were able to get another tarp to cover the hole in the tent just prior to a heavy rain. Camp chairs and a camp table did arrive later that day also as well as other needed supplies. This was only our guides second season of guiding for bear. This trip was billed as a bear hunt with excellent fishing. Our guide was quite willing and eager to help us in any way possible; and worked very had to provide us with a good experience, however his knowledge of fishing in this area was quite limited. It would have been nice if he had been more knowledgeable about the fishing as we filled our bear tags on the 2nd and 3rd day of a 6 day hunt and had plenty of time to fish.
