SUMMARY REMARKS

Problems of Hunt: No problems were encountered. No matter how hard you work to get in shape the hunt will be difficult if it is a long backpack hunt. Highlights of Hunt: We spotted our ram on the third day of actual hunting and the guide realized he would be returning to the area regularly. We hunted him in the area three days and finally got him on the third day. The area was true wilderness and extremly remote. It was a beautiful and hard, yet enjoyable experience. Equipment Recommendations: If you are backpacking travel light as possible. Be sure the pack itself is as light as you can find and still be adequate for the task at hand. Good rain gear is essential and clothes should be of material that will dry easily. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? Without any reservation. Chris and Sharron McKinnon run a first class operation. Everyone worked to assure success.

A horseback hunt would have been less taxing.

The area itself grabs attention because of its beauty, ruggedness, and remoteness. You will see no one else on your hunt. The hunt itself was different from anything I've ever done before. I'd do it again in a minute. Even though I felt that I was in good condition, I found the first three days of packing in to our hunting area to be very hard. Thirty or fourty years ago it would not have seemed so difficult, I imagine I lost eight to ten pounds. At the same time, the guide worked hard to be sure I was not exhausted by the time we got to our hutning area. He was the most professional hunting guide I have ever experienced. He knew just how to hunt this area even though he had not been there before. His powers of observation were great and he planned our hunt perfectly. He did take time to look around and enjoy where we were. When we choose an outfitter you hope your choice is correct, and this time it was perfect.
