Antelope - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Deer, Whitetail - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: Game Sought But Not Taken: Game Condition Comments: My girlfriend and I went out to Big Buck Outfitters on a custom hunt. I hunted mule deer trophy and she was on a doe only hunt. I filled my tag by 8:30 the first morning for the buck. She had also filled her antelope and mule deer doe tag by the same time that morning. We went out and bought more doe tags (antelope and whitetail) and filled them all within 2 1/2 hours that afternoon. In all, we took 8 animals that first day. The abundance of wildlife was incredible and the experience was incredible, to say the least. We didn't know what to expect going out, but definitely had a GREAT time and will be returning in the future.

SUMMARY REMARKS

Problems of Hunt: We experienced no problems, whatsoever. Other people in camp struggled with their shots, but the guides would continue to put them on animals and give them additional opportunities. Every effort was given to people to get their tags filled. The biggest thing to do is to be honest about a shot you are comfortable making to your guide. If you say you are comfortable shooting 400 yds, make sure that you can make that shot, otherwise be honest. They will get you in closer if necessary, but need to know that you want a shorter shot. We were honest, but saw others in camp struggling because they were trying the longer shots, thinking they could make them. Highlights of Hunt: The entire experience was well beyond our expectations. We both had to stalk, and getting past the other game to get the shot on the animal was a new experience. The highlight would probably be the celebration with the guides and recounting the stories back at camp. Equipment Recommendations: If you are flying, with all the extra baggage fees for airlines these days, determine what you are going to do with the meat (donate, etc) before heading out, and how much it will cost with each option. We drove, so we brought coolers with us, but there were many others in camp that were not prepared. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? We hope to take some friends and family with us in the future. The experience of seeing so many animals is something you can't experience back home. It's like hunting season back home times ten in intensity and enjoyment.

It is really easy to take a nice animals on the first or second day, when waiting and being selective might result in an exceptional trophy.

Easy hunt, one of our party had a bad knee and they made sure it was not hard for him. Some one else at the lodge had a mule deer that scored 170+. We felt like this was good value for our money.

Highlights of Hunt: Lots of game (deer), beautiful country, fun and exciting hunt, took a very good mule deer buck, good guides and cook. I recommend going through the agent because contract terms were better than those who didn't.

Major Game Animals Taken: Deer, Mule - Availability: Abundant - Trophy Size: 171 B & C, 29 1/2 inches. Game Sought But Not Taken: Antelope - Availability: I passed up the opportunities at several 14-inch bucks looking for a really big one. Game Condition Comments: Excellent. I saw at least 20 bucks per day with two or more grossing over 180 B & C. The antelope were plentiful and accurately described by outfitter as 14-inch average.

Problems of Hunt: Physical fitness is a requirement and a great benefit although not absolutely essential. Highlights of Hunt: The best belly crawling, dirt eating, sneeky, quiet stalk for two miles of my entire hunting life! Equipment Recommendations: Good optics and a flat shooting 300-400 yard shooting rifle that you have practised with a lot. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why?
