Third trip to Bergzicht. Lost all trophies in house destruction by fire, so was looking for a lot. All fair chase, superb stalking, PH Errens and Hannes first rate, trackers great, accommodations superb, scenery and bird photography best, trophy quality best. |

Often shots long, most 150-300 with one 427 yards. 300RUM 200 grain Swift A frame superb choice. Harris bipod great help, many shots off tripod as well. |

After 3 trips there, Hannes and Errens and Hannes' family are friends, and they treat you that way on the first trip. First class attention to detail and your needs. We did 2 side trips for sight seeing which were great, with Hannes and his wife Geraldine. If a game lodge experience is your desire, you will not go wrong here. We worked hard , my preference is lots of walking and stalking, we did and did exceptionally well with 11 trophies, as well as cull oryx and jackals. We did go to other areas for Mountain zebra though Hannes has them in order to experience the native range and wild mountains to the west, as well as eland, blesbok, waterbuck, and impala. Hannes has just finished a 10,000 acre high fence within his land which will allow hunting of all of these species there if so desired.

I do not believe it would be possible to be disappointed at Bergzicht. My second trip there and I would go back again. Wonderful quality of game, great hunt. Available on property (about 65,000 acres no high fence) are blue and black wildebeest, red hartebeest, gemsbok, springbok, warthog, kudu (my first trip got 58.5 inch), mountain zebra, plains zebra, steenbok, duiker, cheetah, leopard, etc. Luxury house and super staff, the PH's Hannes (owner) and Erins are the best.

Hannes is a one man operation. His property is 40,000 acres low fence. He will not fence it due to the kudu migration. In good years he takes several kudu over 60 inches. Easy to get to one hour from the airport, not five or six hours north. He has access to over 500,000 acres of prime hunting areas. Most properties are people he went to school with. |

Cannot say enough about this operation and Namibia in general. Took me 30 seconds. That is right 30 seconds. One page form check serial number stamped and you are out of there, not like the two to three hours in J'Burg. There were 4 hunters there that missed their connecting flights even with couriers. Hannes does "Special" things for his guests that I have not seen done in other camps before. I will leave it as a surprise for those who go. Wish I had gone ten years ago. Namibia is the cleanest, best kept of the South African countries.
