Problems of Hunt: No real problems, except snow and cold weather for a few days. Highlights of Hunt: Taking a very good 6 foot 8 inch bear the first evening. Equipment Recommendations: Mosquito net. Good quality scope and binocular, the big ones are quite often coming out very late. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? Very good camp, very nice and helpful people. Outfitter knows what the hunter expects. Great cooks and guide. Don't go there if you want to lose weight during the hunt. Great fishing for pike right beside the camp. Shot a good bear the first evening and spent the other 9 days waiting for an even bigger one. Could have shot 5 other bears that were all smaller. Best camp I ever had on all the hunt, "up north".

Problems of Hunt: Highlights of Hunt: Seeing wolves in the wild and learning about them from the outfitter. Bagging two wolves. Also saw a large number of deer, elk and moose. Seeing a lynx on the way to camp one evening. Equipment Recommendations: You spend long days in the blinds, so I would recommend audio books to help pass the time. Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? The outfitter is very knowledgeable and works hard to establish and maintain numerous active bait sites. There is a large wolf population and they offer an excellent opportunity to take one of these wary animals.

The guide and outfitter are clearly very good hunters and it shows in their planning and knowledge of the area and the game. I have rarely hunted with an outfit that was better prepared or worked harder on a day-to-day basis to keep aware of game movement and replenish bait sites. This outfitter was also well equipped to allow you to travel with a minimum of gear. Bedding was provided along with portable heaters for the blinds and lunches packed in insulated bags with a thermos if desired. The outfitter has very good (new) facilities for skinning and storage of hides. They take great pains to make sure that each hunter gets good pictures of his trophy in a nautural setting. They sent me home with pictures on my camera and a CD with pictures from their cameras. I can't say enough good about Alpine Outfitters. I intend to hunt with them again soon!

Problems of Hunt: Highlights of Hunt: A chocolate black bear was my ultimate trophy and I will never forget the thrill of the first sighting of this bear and obtaining a second black bear just capped a great week. Equipment Recommendations: Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? Yes Why? I have limited experience having hunting with outfitters in Montana, Maine and North Carolina, but no doubt Alpine Outfitter gave 110% to their hunters, their guides work hard, their camp is clean and comfortable, their food is excellent and the care of our trophies was tops according to my taxidermist. 7 hunters took 9 bears and 2 or 3 bears were pasted over. Great hunt, great bears and a great, great Outfitter.
