"A fence shoot is just the sale of a fabricated image to people who have neither the skill nor the inclination to obtain the real thing."
"Fair chase has been defined relative to the animal in particular, to the animal's ability to escape."
I was led to believe, through the attached brochure, that this would be a fair chase hunt. All I required was somewhere to hunt and someone who knew the land.
What was going on was a fenced hunt of tame animals, much like hunting in a chicken coop. There is no sport to this.

Rebuttal from Alan Wilson:
This report is toward the merits of hunting inside a fence. This just like gun ownership will always be debated.
Hunting in 15-20 acres is a lie. No guide present is a lie. Poor condition of lodge is a lie. Hunting tame animals is a lie. Turkeys being released in area is a lie. Poor food is a lie. Poor condition of guide a lie. Contacted the outfitter a lie.
Mr. Pollack was scheduled for a three-day, three-night hunt with meals, guides, license, and lodging included. He was told that we could try birds on the fenced lodge property but also to expect to also be hunting outside property. We have lots of birds inside the fence but the fence is no deterrent to them. Birds gather and wonder on the property because of the grain that is put out for the wild boar. When spring gets here the birds start breaking up and moving to lower ground and nesting areas.
Mr. Pollack asked if he could hunt without getting a license and I did say we could try that first morning on the fenced area then get the license needed to hunt outside. My plan was to hunt that first morning and go out and pick up his license that afternoon. "The evening he arrived at lodge, Mr. Pollack said he wanted to see and possibly roost some birds. He and a guide drove around in a UTV but found zero turkeys that evening. Mornings are always better for us and seeing turkeys. "The guide that took him out called me that night and refused to hunt with him the next day. I've never before had a guide to refuse a client. "It didn't matter either way, as Mr. Pollack left from lodge about 7:00 am the first morning before his actual hunt began. Even though it was raining, I was out at daybreak to locate birds for him. Inside the fenced area, I crow called and got two separate birds to shock gobble. Another guide, Lynn, was at the lodge to fix breakfast and get hunters ready to go out. Breakfast is over by 7:30 and that's when I made it to lodge. By that time, Mr. Pollock had already left. The only thing he said to Lynn was that his contract stated he would have a guide at 7:00am. At 7:03 he told Lynn contract was broken and he was heading back to Arkansas. "We run about 80% success on turkey hunts and it's no kill no pay. This past spring we were charging $725 and that included a non resident license. I deal with clients in some way or another 365 days a year and have done so for 36 years. Most are great, with an occasional tough one thrown in. I have never had a client like Mr. Pollack and pray that I never will again. Wilson also disputes the poor rating for his lodging, meals and services and sent us a number of photos to prove his point.
