After ten years I was drawn for the Maine moose hunt. The first call I got was from guide Bob Lawrence. I decided to hunt with him and am so thrilled I did. Bob is a great combination of intelligence and woods sense. He quarterbacks the hunt and his staff is well up to the task of taking good care of you and getting a moose. After the fact I found that his price is the one of the most competitive (cheap) compared to the others who called or mailed me information.
It is ironic that we hunted the very same area hunted by the costliest outfit (a well known guide). We even passed their people on a daily basis. If one of your subscribers gets from for Zone 4 or 9 or wherever Bob hunts they will not be sorry. Ive been in lots of camps and own am invested in several service companies. This guy gets it!!! Oh yeah. I got a nice bull moose and had lots of opportunities. They got the animal out of the bush very quickly and onto the processor. Everything was beyond my expectations.

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
Really none. Restraint to shoot a "small" bull was difficult. Guy was very helpful in helping to determine a trophy size. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
Hunting with a professional guide is a real psychological comfort. After our prehunt discussion, I was confident we would encounter multiple bulls and have an opportunity at a giant. And we did. Guy's calling ability is exceptional. He knows all of the nuances of pitch, volume, and other sounds necessary to entice a bull into easy rifle range. He completely understands moose habits and combined with his in depth knowledge of their habitat is a deadly combination. Walking up on a bull and cow on the way out of the woods. Walking like a moose as we stalked my trophy. The terrain is gorgeous in September. Steak dinner the first night. Taking a trophy with my son - a life time MEMORY!! Seeing other game such as grouse, bear. |

| Why? |
I have hunted big game for 50+ years with many guides in many states. Guy Randlett IS at the top of my list because he is truly a professional. He analyzes the weather (wind, moisture, clouds, temperature), habitat features, and combines them with his pre-season scouting to put you where the bulls are. We observed 8 bulls the first day, 7 bulls the second day and shot a great bull at first light the third morning. Guy, is ameniable and will work hard to position you for a kill shot. Just listen to him and be successful. We saw a 60+ incher but couldn't get a shot at him! |

I have hunted big game in Idaho, Colorado, California, Georgia, Wyoming, North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia. I have a degree in Wildlife Management and have written a 5 year management plan for Ft. Carson, CO. I have hunted big game for 50+ years. |
| Physical Condition: |
Excellent. If you are in shape to walk/hike 5-6 miles per day you are good to go in the zone I hunted. I believe physical handicaps could easily be accommodated by Guy. |

Accommodations were great. Food was great and the facilities were very sanitary. The camp staff was friendly and helpful. Showers worked great and hot water was plentiful. What Guy states in his web site is accurate. He isn't fudging his experience or knowledge. He puts you on the bulls!! Guy's assistant guides are also highly professional. You can count on them to react appropriately in any situation and they do. Whether it be calling or "reading" other moose signs/sounds - they are great and add significantly to the success of the hunt. The equipment used by the guides is first class and you can count on them to get your trophy out of the woods in a timely and safe manner. Guy has communications with outside help if need be. This is important considering the remoteness of the hunting area. Bottom Line - HIRE GUY RANDLETT
