of Hunt: |
We arrived at the hunting lodge, originally constructed in 1554, located in the beautiful Austrian mountains. I met with Eva and my PH (Martin) to discuss the hunt including my physical ability and my goal for trophy size. Martin had pre-scouted game (all free-range) and with the August heat suggested we hunt in high mountain meadows. They have hunting blinds from high mountain meadows to lower meadow blinds accessible by truck to accommodate all types of hunters. On the first evening hunt we saw 5-6 Red Stags, 8-10 Roe Deer and 4-5 Chamois but not the trophy Stag I was looking to harvest. On the morning of the second day we hunted the lower meadow where we spotted and I shot my Stag. On our way back from hunting area Martin spotted 3 Mouflon Rams and we put a plan together to go back that evening for a spot and stalk. I shot a trophy Mouflon on the evening hunt. The Hunt-Austria team took care of everything after I harvested my trophies from, cleaning, trophy preparation, shipment to taxidermist/veterinarian, and shipping to US. |

I would highly recommend Eva, Martin and the Hunt-Austria team for anyone who enjoys the history/scenery of Europe/Austria and the 100s of years of hunting traditions and heritage. The guides, accommodations and food were 5 star. This ranks as one of the best hunts in my 35 years of hunting. |
