HUNTER COMMENTS AND/OR OUTFITTER/BOOKING AGENT REBUTTAL |

I hunted the last week of the season. We hunted on four different ranches, and it was clear theyd been hunted heavily. The guide was good. We used a pickup truck with a high seat like we use in South Texas. If the deer are hunted that way all season, they would have moved away from the roads. The properties are overhunted and need to be rotated. I did not see a good deer. I field scored the buck I killed at 101 inches. Saw one four point mule deer. Two young hunters in camp who could hunt on foot saw nothing, either. I had just gotten an arthritis shot which made me slow on the ladder. On one ranch we drove for four to five hours and didnt see much at all.

E-mail from Todd Rice to Barbara Crown, 5/1/2013:
Hello Barbara Here are some facts of Mr. Nash hunt. Also I have attached a statement from his guide. 1. MR. NASH KILLED A 107" B&C COUES BUCK ! THE BUCK IS GOLD MEDAL SCI. BOONE AND CROCKETT ALL TIME IS 110. THE BUCK WILL QUALIFY FOR THE BOONE AND CROCKETT AWARDS PROGRAM. 2. Mr. Nash is a very old grumpy man. I did everything I could do to keep him happy. I gave him his own bedroom at the ranch house, with a sepertate bathroom. My wife drove 20 miles oneway to buy him some wine and snacks that he wanted. After the hunt, my guides took him to town and spent a day with him showing him around. The next morning they picked him up at 6:00 am and took him to the airport. (His flight did not leave until 1:00 pm. But he insisted to be at the airport early) He tipped his guides a total of $ 200. YES, I said guides! After I saw how old he was, and realized how difficult he would be. I put TWO guides with him. Since he could not walk, I tried to hunt him from a high rack. He could barely climb into it. And when he had to go to the bathroom. He could not climb down. To be honest with you it was sad. I felt bad for the old guy. BUT, we continued to hunt him the best we could. 3. As far as the hunt and the ranches being over hunted. I hunted him on 4 different ranches. A total of 140,000 acres. As you will read in his guides statement. We put him on many B&C class bucks. My ranches are world class. I take B&C class bucks every year. This season on the same ranches Mr. Nash hunted. We took bucks 139,135,127,121,119 , 117 and 115. Thats 7 bucks in one season that will qualify for BOONE AND CROCKETT. 4. Im not to sure of all your customers. But I know Paul Dachton and John Hoestenbach are in your base. Paul has hunted with me. three years in a row. He has taken 9 mule deer with me. Last year he killed a 196 B&C buck. He is coming back next season again. John has hunted five years in a row. Two years ago he killed a 130 B&C coues on the same ranch Mr. Nash hunted. John is coming back again next season. We at Sonoran Outfitters pride ourselves in running a first class company. We run a 47% repeat customer rate. But even as hard as we try, we can not make every hunter happy. thanks TODD RICE SONORAN OUTFITTERS

Account from guide Jose Davila, included in Todd Rice's email to Barbara Crown. 5/1/2013:
My hunting with Mr. Micheaux Nash.
My name is Jose Eduardo Davila and i am working for Sonoran Outfitters with Mr. Todd Rice as a guide. On January of 2013 Mr. Todd Rice sorted me to guide Mr. Michaux Nash, And as soon I met my hunter I knew from the very first moment that hunt will be not easy at all. Mr. Nash is an 80-year-old man who wanted a 130 class coues deer, but with his physical condition this was not a easy thing at all. I mean Mr Nash couldnt hike, see or walk. I tried to show him about 10 very good deer -- I am talking about 105-110 class coues deer buck in the binoculars, but he could not see but 1 or 2 of them and he decided to pass on them. As soon as we saw his limits, we decided to try on high rack hunting but that idea was a nightmare. One day he fell, but I caught him before he hit the ground. He broke my shooting stick because he was using it as a cane. Finally he took a 107 class coues deer buck and we kept trying to get him another bigger one. We saw 2 or 3 more bigger bucks, but again he passed on them because they weren't a 130" buck. Mr. Nash did not want to bring his antlers and cape of his buck with him so we still have it. I have to say, I've been guiding for Sonoran Outfitters for 3 years and Mr. Nash was one of the most difficult men to hunt with.
