SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
We weren't as smart as the male leopards. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
The PH and his crew worked very hard to get a leopard on bait. The Dagga Boy hunt was perfect and so were the eland and kudu hunts. All long stalks with excellent tracker and PH. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
No special equipment. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
yes |
| Why? |
Extremely professional PH and crew. These guys know how to hunt. The buffalo and plains game hunts were all you could ask for. |

Condition Comments: |
Game was everywhere, we saw cape buffalo and elephant whenever we wanted to and plains game was everywhere. A great place for those seeking a trophy Chobe bushbuck as the area was lousy with them! For those that can hold out and pass up some great old bulls a 40" is a real possibility. I'll be doing that next hunt! |

SUMMARY
REMARKS |
 |
| Problems
of Hunt: |
The only problem was my limited trophy fee budget! I had to restrict myself to much less plains game than I could have shot, passing up nice waterbuck, zebra, bushbuck and others. |
| Highlights
of Hunt: |
A mock charge from an elephant bull to 3 yards and taking my first cape buffalo a wonderful old warrior. Also, being the first hunter with Phil to take 2 hyenas. |
| Equipment
Recommendations: |
Consider bringing a spotting scope as it would be great from camp and some lookout locations over the river. |
| Would You
Recommend This Hunt to a Friend? |
yes |
| Why? |
Phil Smythe is a top-notch young outfitter and PH with amazing enthusiasm and a positive attitude. His camp was wonderful with great food, great staff and even new beds, bedding, towels and his own design of mosquito nets that didn't tangle you up at night. He really pays attention to the small details that made it a more enjoyable hunt and more comfortable camp. You could definitely bring the wife to his Swainson's camp!! |

Traveling to Zim felt safer that traveling through a major US city. The people were very friendly and helpful and it was a great experience. I would recommend that hunters do their research before booking into communal land areas as there was absolutely no comparison in terms of quality and quantity of game when compared to a dedicated safari area like Chirisa!
