As we told you last December the size of the elephants Wagner took jumped this past year from roughly 35 and 50 pounds a side in 2000 to 69 x 68 and 57 x 55 in 2001. All of the buffalo this past year measured over 41 inches. The appeal of these hunts, of course, is the possibility that a real bruiser of a bull elephant and/or a huge buffalo will wander through the concession.

"I saw big impala and huge nyala," he writes. "I can't wait to return...."
Other important game animals available here, Wagner tells us, are southern nyala, kudu and eland. Last year, he says one of his clients took an 39-inch eland and a nyala that scored 78 6/8.
