We heard about the big buck from Alberta outfitter Ryck Visscher (780-462-6611), who says word of the big buck has been circulating in bowhunting circles for several weeks now. No photos of the deer have been released, however, because publication rights have already been bought up by one or more publications. Details of the hunt are also being closely guarded at this point. It is known that the lucky hunter is a 29-year old Edmonton bowhunter by the name of Wayne Zaft.
Visscher says the rack has two webbed points that experts may disagree on when the rack is officially scored this month. If the points are determined to be separate from one another (and Visscher does not think they will be), the rack's score as a typical could drop sharply. He promised us an update as soon as the animal has been scored.
