As for Pikes Peak Outfitters, this company is no longer able to conduct hunts in Colorado because owner Gary Jordan is not licensed to operate in this state. The Colorado Office of Outfitters Registration says Jordan relinquished his outfitting license in July of this year. It is unclear why he did so at this point. Pikes Peak has been written about in many national hunting magazines and numbers among its clients some of the best-known outdoor writers and sports personalities.
We found out about the demise of Pikes Peak from a Hunting Report subscriber who says he has lost a $3,375 deposit on an eastern plains mule deer hunt. He says he understands many other deposits paid by other hunters are also going up in smoke. We called Pikes Peak at press time at the only number we have for them, but no one picked up the phone.
