Update On The Turmoil In CARPublished: August - 2001 Up in Central African Republic, we need to correct a few details in our report last month on the turmoil caused by a military coup up that way in late May. Seems things returned to normal in that country more quickly than we indicated. Specifically, Aouk Sangha Safaris, Safaria and Haut Chinko Safaris, among others, immediately returned to the field and conducted successful safaris.
As for next year, according to a fax we received on 18 July from Rudy Lubin of Haut Chinko Safaris CAR operators as a group "...intend to operate as usual in 2002." He notes that he has hunted in CAR for 29 years and has never had to cancel a safari, much less a season because of security problems. ........(continued) |
