Insiders say this question of presidential succession simply has to be resolved before any steps will be taken on reopening hunting. Reluctantly, we have come to agree. Meanwhile, as we have reported before, Zambia essentially does not have a game department at all, having dismantled its National Parks and Wildlife Department and stalled the implementation of ZAWA, its intended replacement. Poaching is said to be approaching epidemic proportions. The tragedy of it all is breathtaking. We hope to have some good news soon....
