On the positive side, we should point out that none of the returning hunters we have spoken with have raised any concern about personal safety in Liberia. In that connection, we have just received a detailed report from subscriber Bob Otto, who has now made two trips to Liberia - one in 1999 and one in 2000. The report, with its graphic description of on-the-ground conditions, is absolutely must reading by anyone contemplating a trip to Liberia. It is worth noting that Otto says the hunting and the overall outfitting of this hunt have improved dramatically in the last two years. He recommends the hunt, but only to hunters who know, and accept, what they are getting into.
