Talk Of Reopening KenyaPublished: December - 1997 We have heard serious new talk recently about the reopening of Kenya, perhaps as soon as elections there have been completed later this month. We learned long ago to be skeptical about Kenya, but at least one hunting professional, Dieter Ochsenbein of Highveld Taxidermy in South Africa, is so convinced the country is about to open he tells us he is going there to conduct a seminar on trophy preparation. Any opening, of course, is going to be experimental at first and confined to private land. But that doesn't mean there won't be some magnificent trophies on offer, particularly buffalo. Down the way, there could be some good lions as well, not to mention highly desirable plains game species such as gerenuk. We hope to have more on this country in time for the upcoming conventions.
