One such area I like is the northeastern corner of the state with Gillette being the hub. If your interest is antelope, the region south of Gillette is the best choice. If plains mule deer are what you want, I suggest focusing on the area north of this plains city. But how do you find a private-land hunt here? Continuing subscribers already know there are a lot of ranchers in this area who take part in what's called the "Landowner List" program. All of them are willing to open their lands to hunters for a modest fee and they have consented to have their contact details printed in what is a essentially a directory of ranches.
The list was put together by game wardens who perceived a need for it and went about creating it, ranch by ranch.
