I can tell you that one way Geurink does it is by offering hunts that are, for the most part, neglected by other agents, which puts him in a buyer's market when negotiating prices with the operators. Furthermore, Geurink avoids dealing with Moscow middlemen, who add an extra layer of cost. Whenever possible he also avoids sending his hunters through that city, because it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Finally, his hunts are all group trips involving six to nine hunters. It is, of course, easier and cheaper to handle a single group of nine people than it is to handle nine individual hunters.
At any rate, a good example of the hunts Geurink offers is his stag hunt in Ukraine. This hunt costs $5,995, with a 10-day itinerary all-inclusive of two days travel, two days sightseeing, six days hunting, one stag of any size, all guiding services, overnight sleeper car from Kiev to the hunting area on a comfortable train, all meals, lodging, licenses, trophy fees, interpreters and round-trip airfare from New York or Chicago to Kiev.
