"This is an exciting announcement, because the Sodiros are well known for catering to many Weatherby Award winners, past presidents of Safari Club International and other elite hunters. They have a reputation for producing a very high level of hunter success with excellent trophies. They are educated, cultivated people, and they speak good English. Their red stag hunts take place in the province of La Pampa in the center of the country, about an hour's flight from Buenos Aires. Unlike the Andes, where most stag hunts in Argentina take place, this is flat, prosaic country, but older, out-of-shape hunters will certainly prefer a hunt in this part of the country because the walking is much easier than in the Andes. Some experienced Argentina hunters also stoutly maintain that the trophies are better, too. Most stags taken in the Sodiros' area have been good representative trophies, but several SCI silver-medal and gold-medal animals have been taken too. Note that all of the Sodiros' stag hunts - in fact all their big game hunts - are strictly fair chase, with no enclosures whatsoever. The best time to hunt is during the rut, which occurs roughly from March 20 to April 5. Of course, this is not a well-kept secret, so you have to book far in advance to get in during that period.
Red stag is certainly not the only animal offered by the Sodiros. In fact, they offer hunting for every legally huntable species in the country. These include water buffalo, puma, wild boar, Indian blackbuck antelope, axis deer,........(continued)
