On balance, to be sure, West African Safaris has done a tremendous job so far. After the first abortive safari, which saw clients using ancient taped-together shotguns and one client even wandering lost in the forest for a full night and day, things have gone fairly well. West African Safaris has been remarkably candid about problems, too, even providing a full list of all clients as they come back. With permission of the clients, they have even provided us with the telephone number of those who experienced problems. All things considered, we give the company a thumbs up for both candor and effectiveness. The latest returning client to file a report with us is subscriber James M. Martin who, along with subscriber Bill Taylor, hunted Liberia in mid-March. Here, in part, is what Martin had to say about the experience:
"In general, we feel that the hunt was successful. Bill Taylor took four different duikers, and I took a total of four duikers of three different species. The hunting itself is strictly on foot and very fair-chase. Both Bill and I are in our mid-60s, and at the end of the day we were bushed. The camp was excellent.
