Alain Lefol In ChadPublished: January - 2000 Near press time we received a garbled, satellite phone call from PH Alain Lefol in Chad. Lefol, you'll recall, has been trying for three years to pry this country open to hunting. Now, if we heard Lefol right (his message came in while our offices were closed, so we could not ask follow-up questions), he has finally hit pay dirt.
Seems his call was placed from the Ennedi Mountains of northern Chad, up near the Libyan border. This is the Barbary sheep country Lefol has been trying to hunt. He indicated he was with two clients who had just taken very respectable sheep - the first to be taken by anyone since 1967. You can bet we'll be following up on this story in a future issue.
